    I'm pretty sure when they refer to legacy drivers they mean really old ones. I don't think the drivers would install if they had a problem with an older version already installed. I've had no problems, you go ahead and you do lengthy method while I'll happily be on my way installing new drivers in under 5 minutes without rebooting. :)

    Works just fine for me.

    Seems I have been falling behind in the driver update, anyway I will try this on my M17 and see how it fares against 11.6, thanks for the heads-up.

    only time I have issues installing drivers on top of other drivers is when I installed on top of the HP drivers (which I need for switchable graphics) with an ATI release higher than 11.2

    'course they do install it just crashes and you have to do it again.

    otherwise I can just install 11.2 and then jump up from 11.2 to whatever and it works fine.

    Same here. I went from 10.2 (sony's default) to 10.10 and I had to use Driver Wiper. After the 11 upgrade I've been just installing over with no issues.
