Hi All,

AMD released Catalyst 12.9 for embedded graphics like the 7660G

I have a A10 4600M 7660G + 7670M and the driver works extremely well.

DOWNLOAD:: AMD Embedded GPU and APU Driver for Windows XP/Vista/7/Win 8

http://www2.ati.com/drivers/hotfix/catalyst_application_profiles/amd_catalyst_12.8_cap2.exe

As for installation, I just manually uninstall the old drivers and delete all the ATI/AMD registry and folders.

Use This Guide for Uninstall :: Guide: How To Completely Uninstall AMD Graphics Drivers - Bright Side Of News*

After installing this and reinstalling 12.8 CAP 2 ( Link), I broke the 3dmark11 to 2330.

AMD Radeon HD 7670M video card benchmark result - AMD A10-4600M,SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD. NP355V4C-S02CA score: P2333 3DMarks

Starcraft 2 can now properly use Dual Graphics and able to achieve a healthy 40 fps at High settings .

Upate:: SC2 can get 24 to 28 fps in Xtreme Graphics Mode @ 1366 x 768.

Diablo 3's fps increases from 50 to 70 in Act III in High shadow settings. I also experience less drop frames.

Dual Graphics performs smoother with less micro stuttering.

I hope the performance increase is not my isolated case. Let me know how it performs for you.

I'm downloading the package (for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) right now. I will report back with my findings later today. Thanks for finding this.

Tweaked the driver and turned off Tesselation, I found that SC2 is almost playable on Xtreme Setting with a fps of 24 to 30 fps @ 1366 X 768. Although when 5 or 6 Collosus come it does stutter.

I have to say this New Driver is a god send.

I did a quick test & after it finishes installing, on my system a lot of the vision engine control center is missing. The only things I can see are power profiles, wifi, cpu clock controls, & maybe one other thing. I can't access all the other menus or the switchable graphics either. I have no way of enabling/disabling Dual Graphics.

My Friend used to have that problem. But he uninstall the driver using this method

Guide: How To Completely Uninstall AMD Graphics Drivers - Bright Side Of News*

Reboot before reinstall.
And it got the CCC coming back on again.

See if that helps.

<s>I take it this is not meant for my laptop? I have an Intel Ivy Bridge CPU and the AMD 7970M.</s>

EDIT: Scratch that. I'm downloading the modded version from Benchmark3D. Cheers.. And thanks for the heads up! :)

Ha! What do you know. I used Driver Sweeper. I'll give this method a shot, even though its recommended for Intel/AMD setups & not AMD/AMD setups.

This is can be interesting. Tomorrow I'm going to check out this driver with A10-4600M itself, maybe the already very good scores can go higher ;)...

I used the manual unistallation method many times. At most I lost USB 3.0 support after uninstallation. I rebooted then reinstall 12.9. Everything works fine again =)

There are problems with the CCC if you don't uninstall the driver properly. (See First Post)

Also, if you are on an intel system, it probably won't be compatible. You will need to find modded drivers from Benchmark3D or something.

I tried the suggested method but this 12.9 package did not work for me. I don't know exactly why. I was messing with it all yesterday without success. CCC was only showing those few options and was not complete. I'm going to have to stick with 12.8 for now.

I re-installed the samsung driver, and then installed over it and it worked. However, I don't think it made a significant improvement.

Result on K53ta:

The driver is make for trinity+ or single APU? I believe. My method is always uninstall old driver+ccc via program+feature and haven't fail me for a few update. The 12.9 will not detect the A6+6750m as usable for the display driver. The reason you guys CCC broke is because the older display driver (12.8 in my case) do not work with the new CCC.

I gonna check if guru3d have a mod version~~

hmmm. Seems like not everyone is getting performance improvement. I only get performance gain from dual graphics though.

Maybe wait one more week or so for the Normal 12.9 to come out, on guru 3d, some find games like BF3 has slight performance increase on single card setup, but some games like mafia 2 has slightly worse performance.

I'll get more games to benchmark once the actual 12.9 comes out.

Dual graphics depends too much on software, which is a bummer some times. When it works, it works well.

AMD released an update on Oct 12

AMD Embedded GPU and APU Driver for Windows XP/Vista/7/Win 8

The download file's name appended a "2"

In the description it says "12.10"

Trying it out right now because my comp's been lagging pretty bad even on FireFox.

== Update

It still had the issue of not recognizing the GPU. But I remedied this by doing the following:
1) Uninstall everything according to REAL_GM's first post.
2) Install everything from the "12.10" file
3) Install everything from the 12.9 beta here:
http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst129betadriver.aspx
4) Install everything from the "12.10" file again
5) Install AMD CAP v1 for 12.9
http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/pages/crossfirex-app-profiles.aspx

P2132, up from P1976 (~8% improvement)

hi fellow eng sci-er, you should write a guide on how to update the dual graphic drivers on this model.

I brought this yesterday and just did a clean win7 install.. however, i have having trouble installing the graphics driver. it installs fine but after reboot its still un-recognized in device manager.

great laptop btw, was thinking of opening up a official thead for this computer :D

^ what do you mean by "this" in your post? the ASUS G53SW with GTX 460m? then you don't need AMD drivers.

sorry, replied to wrong thread.

new laptop is also a samsung np355v4c-s01CA.

found a workaround by installing the 8.944 drivers on the samsung site, then download the 9.001 from the amd website. when installing, choose custom and click DESELECT ALL. ONLY click the amd display driver tab and install.

after that, driver will be using 9.001, and no more problems with MOM.exe (CCC) crashing.

guess my pey at amd did pay off :D

Hi engsci ece (1T2?). In fact, the procedures posted above should be preceded by a zeroth step:

0) Install the default Samsung drivers fully.

Since that is how the machine comes from the factory.

On a side note, I dropped my np355v4 from chair-height today inside a laptop bag, and some of the plastics around the corner has deformed.
I guess you get what you pay for.

I got this laptop as well. I want to update the drivers on the laptop, but everyone has different options for setting it up. As well new 12.11 Catalyst drivers came out. Anyone have an up to date option to update drivers. Which one is most reliable, and what specific steps I need to take?
