Only posted here becuase it's rumored we might see the RX 490 as well as Zen.

It's gonna be lit

Yeah, I'm super excited especially for the Ryzen CPU! Looks great! With 95W TDP performing same as 140W Intel 8-core flagship, really hope for a mobile 4-core derivative of it!

I'd prefer a 6 core CPU in the mobile space... or maybe even 8 core on AMD's end.
It could be done... if they lower the clock speeds to say 3 GhZ (base) and have a Polaris based IGP with HBM 2.
Though I'd love to see Ryzen CPU (6 or 8 core with 12 or 16 threads) and E9550.
That would definitely be a win if you ask me.
I could finally upgrade my ancient Acer.

Ryzen + Vega
AMD is definitely back. Now if only these crappy laptop ODMs/OEMs put them
non-crippled in their
non-crippled machines, that would be GREAT! Well even if they don't, it's desktop for me, so screw you "enthusiast" "manufacturers".

I think Intel has reached its limit with efficiency. I could have never imagined Intel mobile CPUs to be as bad as they're now in terms of throttling and overheating. Wherever you look in the reviews, you'll see that even severely crippled 6700hqs have much worse thermals than even full-blown GPUs from Nvidia. And this is all with year-to-year microscopic IPC improvements. AMD has to rise again and end this joke.

Thermals are mainly the fault of the notebook manufacturers. It is not difficult to cool a 6700HQ, but some manufacturers simply choose not too in the pursuit of thin, light, and throttling notebooks. That being said, the 6700HQ simply has pitiful clock speeds even when properly cooled. 3.1 GHz for 4-core boost is shameful in 2016 and really makes you wonder if 6700HQs are truly bottom of the bin.
If the numbers are accurate, Ryzen efficiency is insane. If 8c/16t is at 95W, 6c/12t should easily fit into notebooks. -
Hell, even 95W can fit on notebooks. We already power 200w 1080 GPUs, and intel's 6820HK already hovers on the 80w when overclocked hard and pushed to 100% usage, which is not much of a problem to cool with proper cooling.
But yeah, a good high clocked 6 core CPU would be great.custom90gt likes this. -
6700HQ is truly bottle of the bin, the left overs that Intel needed to sell. There is no reason why in 2016 we have mobile quad core i7s with clock speeds lower than years past. At least when I have my 4700mq and 4900mq chips I could overclock a bit with the few unlocked turbo bins. I won't be surprised at all if Intel does the same crap with Kaby Lake and fully locks down the HQ chips.
AMD didn't show the single core IPC, but the multithreaded results are promising for sure. I am hoping that AMD puts a hurting on Intel and drives innovation and progress.TomJGX likes this.
