AMD Radeon HD 8000 series could be delayed until Q2 2013 - TechSpot

As the title says, the AMD 8000 series was delayed until Q2 2013, with the 8870 and 8850 expected to arrive in Q3 2013 and I'm assuming this means the mobile parts as well.
Damn, been wishing for some nice upgrades this year but apparently AMD's going to delay the launch.
So feel free to still buy 7970's and 680's for the time being!

I think it all depends on what Nvidia is doing. If they release their 700 series in February, Im not shure if AMD is willing to wait as long :)

Yikes I hope Nvidia doesn't make me wait until Q3, as I fear my laptop may not last that long.

    I think you mean Q3 2013, right?

Do you know if the 8850/8870 will correspond roughly to an updated version of the 7850/7870?

Yes, 2013 of course. Missed that.

Also as far as I can tell the 8870 seems to be closer to the 8950 than the 8850. Looks like a beefy card from the leaked specifications.

That's not bad, IMHO. Let my 7970M's last a little longer) I guess we'll see mobile flagships May/June 2013

If everything works out, that means I may end up with over 2 years with my NP9150. Haswell looks decent but don't see anything substantial on the GPU front until Maxwell in 2014, which means Broadwell and Maxwell. See if I can survive through a full calendar year with the same laptop. :p
