This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    i just heard about the intel's santa rosa coming soon
    then i believe amd should have somthing but can't find any
    any opionions or info on amd??? Also i didn;t visit here recently so what is santa rosa do?

    AMD has announced their 65nm Turion X2 CPUs (finally!) and their 690M mobile chipset. I'm not sure when we'll see notebooks using them, might be next month before they're buyable. The combination is alleged to add an hour to battery life.
