Want 6900 & Sandy Bridge on a Asus G73.... with the 120hz Matte Screen.

    Dream laptop right now.

Too bad the 120hz screen is for Nvidia's 3d tech so I doubt it will be paired with any AMD cards.

Oh well guess there is always a chance of doing a manual swap :D

i hope to see the 68xxm being on par or better than the GTX460m at the same price point of the HD5850m.

The 6800M cards should be 5800M rebrands.

Here are the specs. Unfortunately, AMD was only able to to base the card on the desktop 6850, so the performance might not be as high as we'd like. All eyes are on NVidia, since a GF114-based 485/580M could give the card a run for it's money, if not outright beat it.

If nvidia continues its current trend even if it beats it it will cost 2x more and probably run 2x hotter.

The 6900 has AMD HD3D technology (Stereoscopic 3D display/glasses support), so should work with a 120Hz display.

Only 2 times more is a bit conservative. I'm thinking closer to 3x more.

6800's in XF will destroy Nvidia in both price and performance and power efficiency. Three things Nvidia has completely abandoned.

Two slower cards in XF or SLI have traditionally always been faster and cheaper than a single high end card though. Considering how efficient the GF110/114 is, I can't imagine the new 6800M series "destroying" nVidia though, as they ARE rebrands of 5800M.

Btw, there's a whole long thread on the 6000M series...

That's a speculation thread, which is effectively dead, since even AMD.com has the hard info, now :)

EDIT: to the post above the post above mine :p

Take your pick, both of them holds true.

Nvidia will create a 580M that costs $1.2k and requires 150 Watts.

Either way, you'll be able to get 2 AMD's for the price of 1 Nvidia.

Alienware hasn't rebranded a Clevo in some years.

Current M17x is manufactured by Flextronics.
