I got Age of Empires 3, and I can turn all detail settings to max.... except particle detail.

particle detail only goes to medium for some reason. I want in on MAX!!!!

The desktop i play AOE3 on specs are:

    3ghz P4
    1GB Ram
    XFX Geforce 6600 GT 256mb AGP 8X

my pc is two years old but had a graphics card upgrade (was originally geforce 5600.)

I don't understand why particle detail won't go max. If I can play doom3 and Bf2 on max settings, why wont AOE do it?? even my old 5600 played BF2 on max texture detail settings

This is the exact same reply I got from the Age of Empires 3 technical support forum - nothing...

Don't worry I'll figure it out myself

I don't think we have a lot of members playing that game...sorry, I haven't played that franchise since Rise of Nations.

    Stanche??
I play AoE3 on mine laptop and everything on max.
You play it on a desktop so you must play it even better.
Like Chaz says do you have the latest video driver?
And do you have the latest DirectX installled?
Witch program are also running on the background that consumes systemresources?

Umm...you gave them 24 hours before you quit...sometimes it takes longer for a response on a forum like this.

I don't have any problems running it on my laptop, with an x700. How much time did you give the AOE3 support forum? I'd keep checking back there.
