Hey guys, i would like to know how to increase the performance in APB. Its choppy and the ingame settings are very little to choice. So Is there another way i can make this game run better.

    Thanks
    Mike

If your rig the one in your signature? If it is, then I don't think you can do much other they upgrade.

sry mate this game lags even on my Asus G50vt x5. Which has a 9800m GS. Settings i play at was native res(1366x768) minimal settings. Good point about the shadows though. Im sure if someone finds a way to turn the shadow off, it will give a great performance increase to most people. The shadow is still on even when I play at minimal settings.

If you check the oficial forums, they mention that the game has some performance issues which couses audio stutters and lags on most machines (even more powerful ones, than the ones in this thread signatures). It's got some sort of memory leak in some cases and others a cpu usage burst that doesn't "cool down" until you exit the game.

And beeing unreal engine it is very cpu+ram intensive.

Bah. Lemme go look in the old Beta forum if it still exists. There were some settings in a config file that you could adjust which don't show up in game.

    EDIT:
Can't get into the beta forums anymore, but I did find this:
    ALSO:
    http://na.apb.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5472

Many 32 bit system owners actually saw performance INCREASE when doing the above tweak.

Hmmmm, I was very tempted to buy this game. Maybe I'll hold off for a while longer while they work out the kinks. Are there any other performance issues that seem to be around this game?

Still running at like 25 fps but with some lag spikes. Can't figure out how to shut off the shaders and shadows. I know thats a big hit on performance.

Nope im running it at 1200by786 on medium settings to get smooth gameplay. if i try to move anything up the stuttering starts. So its pretty much lame.

Well considering i got 2 for the price of one meh not so overpriced in that regard. But back to the issue I turned crossfire off and it helped emminsly on the FPS issue but now they need to fix the memory leak issue they have and optimizations aswell.

And they need to add advanced Graphic options and make it f2p and i think the game would be good. ;)

You shouldn't have to do a restart. Just run Taskmanager, identify the process that is using up such a high CPU amount and terminate that specific process. The game probably runs after you close it and never shuts down cleanly hence the issue.

No clue when i run it at 1920by1200 maxed i see that i get around 30-35 FPS but the stuttering is terrible i have to turn the rez down to 1280 786 and medium to get 60fps and less stuttering yeah thats right the stuttering dosent got away.

update i updated my drivers t o10.6 and it seems to be working fine aside from the y programming that they did in the game. But now my characters models show up with the skin graphic over clothes or my guy glows white and or hes just invisible entirly lol. I have no clue whats wrong shader problem maybe?
