    Hey all

Just wondered if anyone knew of a list of games that would play smoothly on this netbook? I know Starcraft is a definite, irrespective of some horrific graphic compatibility issues with new OS types. Any other suggestions would be hugely appreciated.

On a side note, i doubt this is where i should post this, but I recently went through a tune-up for this model.
I changed the HDD from the OEM supplied by ASUS to a 64gb SSD and increased the RAM up to 2gb. For software I've moved to Windows 7 Ultimate x32 (x62 isn't supported hence the low level of RAM available). The fastest performing web browser seems to be Opera (with all functions like flash and java disabled). I've swapped out Bitdefender 2015 to AVG Full and made use of their Tuneup software as well. I have to say, this netbook repsonds ten times quicker than before!

Most anything 2005 or earlier should run well. I used to run a website that showed playable games on such low level hardware but I abandoned it years ago. In any case, I know this is water under the bridge but for what money you spent on upgrades, and modern $300 laptop would be ten times faster than that Eee.

Depends on what games you like to play, but visit gog.com and you will find lots of classics there that should work great on that little machine. A couple other classics that run well but need to be found through "alternate" means are Freelancer and No One Lives Forever 1 & 2 (aka NOLF). Good luck and have fun!

I ran a fair few games on the old N270 and it could clock to 2.oghz, not sure if the 1005HA has that or the N280.

GTA Vice City runs brilliantly, San Andreas runs ok, Medal of Honour War Chest runs great.... In short don't aim for great looking games and you should be ok, things like Halo, F.E.A.R. and Far Cry are beyond it's capability (although Halo is almost there).

In no particular order here are some others which run and you can have a lot of fun with, some may have modern OS issues and need workarounds:
    Half Life
    Undying
    Fallout 1 & 2
    Baldurs Gate 1 & 2
    Planescape Torment
    Diablo 1 & 2
Need for Speed up to Hot Pursuit 2/Porsche Unleashed
    Dungeon Seige
    Nosferatu
    Alien vs Predator 1 & 2
    Gothic 2
    Deus Ex
    System Shock 2

In truth you would have been better saving the upgrade money, selling it and getting a C50/C60 netbook like the Acer Aspire One 522. I had that and it could run Fallout 3 and Left4Dead at low settings.

I actually put together a budget netbook using a Voyo Windows tablet and an iPad mini keyboard, followed this guide:
    http://kingoftweaks.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/make-lenovo-miix-2-8-windows-81-tablet.html

It actually fits in a jacket/combat pants pocket and cost me around £70, much smaller and thinner than a netbook but still runs some decent games. I got an 8bitdo FC30 Pro pad and a bluetooth mouse for it and it's a sweet GoG/indie netbook.
