Looks like you need better drivers for sure. Those looks like artifacts...and stretchy lines
-
thanks for the reply....i'll try one of the 9x.xx drivers instead of default (86.02)....strange no one else had this problem :S
-
i tried a few 9x.xx drivers (96.89 and 93.71) they helped a little bit but i still get the occasional artifact....could someone with a G1 tell me which driver they are using?
thanks -
have you applied all the patches for bf?
-
i've patched to 1.41 (which is the latest) so i think its all up to date
-
Your graphics card could be overheating, or if you are overclocking it, remove that.
-
not overclocking....but good idea about overheating...i'll monitor the temps during gaming but i'm pretty sure it should be able to handle it....maybe i should remove the heatsinks and replace with Arctic Silver
-
Vista or XP?
Vista GPU drivers suck at the moment, finding a good one is few and far between.
XP:would be suprised if it were just a driver issue with ur card, unless ur using ancient drivers, I never seemed to have a problem on XP with drivers.
Definately monitor your heat -
using XP with 96.89 drivers which are pretty up to date (from laptopvideo2go). BF2 just crashed before and the screen went into 16bit mode (ie no driver and 800x600 graphics)....very strange

ok, i just did some temperature monitoring idle: 58-60 load: 67-70 degrees C....looks fairly normal to me....the fans seem to spin up a bit but i think thats also pretty normal in game. How are other G1 owners temps?
-
While playing BF2142 on my G1 the highest I've ever gotten was around 78 (I believe), normally play around 72 and idle in the low 60's.
