I've had my ASUS G1S for about one year now. For as long as I've had it it has been extremely laggy in just about every game. The only workaround was to put the laptop to sleep and then wake it up and the lag would be gone. However, with the new NVIDIA Drivers, that doesn't work anymore and any driver released after August 08 has been extremely laggy on my laptop. Can anyone help me fix this, GTAIV is just unplayable with old NVIDIA drivers.

It could be that the "Sleep fix" isn't cutting it anymore if your GPU is beginning to show signs of catastrophic failure, have you also tried cleaning out the vents?

What he's speaking of is the stuttering issue with the 8600m GT. There was some notion that putting it to sleep raises the temp threshold to 110 degrees from 90 degrees, which is when it usually starts to stutter. I used to have that issue, but after a series of replacements through ASUS, the issue is no longer present. I would say to try the DOX 182.05 driver, and see if it works. Other than that, you're better off getting ASUS to replace the GPU. There replacements had an avg turn around of 5 days for me; the 5 days included shipping off and receiving in hand.
