So I bought a card in the marketplace, it must be from the asus W90 (GPUz screenshot attached). It looks exactly like the photos I've seen from the W90.
So this proves ASUS uses normal MXM slots on the W90 (since it works in my notebook).
Anyway the problem is, how do I find the xfire cable?
It has such a strange connection, as seen here (bottom of the card):

The GPU is really cool in this notebook, basically tops out at 60C, so I figure I could stick another one in without any problems.
Does anyone know where to get the right cable?

Does your laptop has a HE tab?
Cos with this card I have no picture on monitor (the same on external), than near 10~15 seconds after turning on a laptop, it begins to beep and turns off (even when I go to Bios). -

Yes my laptop does have an HE tab (for the primary slot which the card is in).
Are you using the 4870 with your M570TU? -
But no luck yet....

Good luck testing, I hope the GPU isn't faulty.
I honestly don't know what you could do to find out if the GPU works or not... -
Is you card recognized in Bios correctly? Cos on my laptop it only tells bios version 5554 and that's it, no card type and nothing else. -

My card is not displayed in any bios screen, don't know why. I think it's normal for this notebook.

I'm thinking that maybe asus w90 has some sort of master and slave card. Later will flash my with yours bios. Can't do this at home because after 15 seconds I turn on laptop, fans start to spin fast and laptop shuts down, and if it happens while flashing - card will be dead))

Would it work to change the memory chips and upgrade them to 1 GB instead of 512 MB? For example take them off a dell 4850 card and solder them to the Asus card?

It probably means a new memory controller too. Perhaps the card won't be able to use all the memory if you don't.
I don't really know though. Your best bet is to ask niffcreature on here. He would be able to tell you your options.
If possible 2 in xfire is still not a bad combo! Especially if temps are good enough to allow for some OCing.
ASUS W90 ati 4870 works with alienware M17 (aka ocz w840di), but where to find xfire cable?
