Bah it's only performance enhancements for 6000 gen GPUs, even though a lot of them are just rebranding of 5000s.

Unfortunately they're underwhelming. I believe nVidia's already released drivers that increase DA2 up to 50% in some cases.

Not playing DA2 but I can tell you I got a over a 300 point increase in 3dmark11 going from ccc 10.10e to 11.4... Performance in two worlds is up several frames as well.

Perfect! I shall be using these for DA 2 when I am ready to play it then. (That is if I still end up getting a FirePro for my replacement unit by then...)

Any driver that brings more FPS is a good driver for me.

I have been trying these babies for a couple of days now & by god they have some impressive performance increases in most of the games that I play (only PES2011 had a huge fps drop for no reason)

you have got to be kiddin me ... either there performance already sucked or there was something completely wrong because drivers can never bump up the fps 1.5x (+50%) unless there was a problem in the first place

They need to work more on driver quality and less on advertisement about driver quality. Until then AMD's full of hot air.

11.4 is good, it fixed the DA2 problem I was having on my desktop. :)

Great...because the ATi equivalents are outperforming the nVidia cards in that game two fold.

These drivers help a bit with Crysis 2 and NFS Shift too, coming from 11.2.

Really? Would it be possible to link me to those comparisons please? ( AMD FTW :D )... But...

Oh my, what have I done... I sent my laptop to RMA without any problems... It was more of a future prevention ( too high temps of 95C! ).

I'm sad now, now that I can't enjoy Crysis 2 demo ( though I got bored of it :p ) with better performance with these drivers... :(

But, they said that they might replace the whole Motherboard ( soldered CPU, GPU, etc ), with a new now. And that's good, because I could get a more overclockable GPU! :D

My God... That will be GPU of the year lol. P9300 points in 3DMark 11... Waayyy ahead of a GTX580. Only an SLI setup can outpace it. Now imagine 6990 in Crossfire... My goodness!

Apparently, the 6990 performs MUCH better in high resolutions. Example :

    5760x1080 and 4xAA and High settings :

    Max : 33; Min : 22; Avg : 26

    GTX 580 in SLI
    Max : 31; Min : 23 : Avg 26

As you can see, AMD is starting to win BIG!

Isn't the AMD 6990 a dual GPU card? That would mean comparing an SLi setup to it is fair.

First : Your avatar is soooo cute :3

Second : Yes, it is a dual GPU. BUT, they are kinda downclocked. But even that way, BEATS an SLI setup! A single card beats 2 cards!!!!

I got a very nice performance boost. From GPU score 9300 to mid-9500's.

WOW! Come on ASUS, hurry up!

But can some one please explain why all these sudden "boosts"? What have they done to the GPU? Stream Processors optimization?

If what I am reading is true then I will be updating my driver tonight. I have yet to install Dragon Age 2 as I am still beating Dragon Age: Awakenings. However, so far it looks pretty solid in general of a driver. I wonder what is the deal with 11.3 then? Are they just going to skip 11.3 and go right into 11.4?

Getting a driver WHQL certified probably takes 3-5 weeks. So in reality, when ATI wants to release an 11.4 driver for April, they need to be completed and submitted to Microsoft by approximately now. 11.3 WHQL drivers will probably be out in the next week or 2, but these preview drivers are newer, so as long as they work I would just use them.

How do I install them? I have a bunch of files displayed in WinZip, which should I exec?
