    Obviously the GTX wins.

    Now, the 4870 vs 8800GTX....probably the 4870.

The 3870 competed with the 8800GT. The GTX beat the GT def. Therefore, you get what I got. Also, the 4870 beating the GTX is just a thought, don't know if it is true, but I would imagine they are close if nothing else.

laptop cards are fabricated much differently, they have to be smaller and cooler and consume less power. They may be based off the desktop cards but they really are not the same thing. Its a good indicator of how they will perform but the 8800m GTX doesnt rele perform like its desktop counter part; does it?

    i agree...
what is more,,i think the mobile3870 can beat 8800m..because mobile 3870 is the same core as desktop version. but the 8800m gtx only has 96 Stream Processors while desktop's 8800gtx has 128 stream processors.

though on the desktop area 8800 can beat 3870 easily, 8800m will be weaker than 8800gtx. the only problem of mobile3870 will be bring too much heat as it is the same core of desktop version.

3870m>8800GTXm , The 8800GTXm Is cutdown whereas the 3870m is standard desktop version, But how the laptop deals with the heat i dont know ,

The 4870 beats the 8800GTX by a fair amount ,

    its impossible to know.

something makes me doubt that they are using the standard desktop 3870 in laptops...

i would obviously guess that the mobile 4870 would beat the mobile 8800m gtx.

i would also guess that the desktop gtx 380 will beat the desktop gtx 280 and that the mobile gtx 380 will beat the mobile 4870.

but, what does it matter? thats a long way away.

Where do you see it as an option? The M860TU isn't even released yet.

they have it on the pcmw site, but paladin and justin have both said there is no possible way they could know if it will even be used so again this thread is pointless.
