HDMI carries full 1080p HD, regardless of your laptop display resolution.

You have to set your external display resolution to 1920x1080 in the Windows display settings, but that's about it. And of course, make sure you're playing it in full screen.

I have a scart adapter for my tv with RCA input (for audio) and s-video input.
With my desktop and a geforce 2 440 with a 7-pin output+converter s-video I can see allthing to my TV

Can I connect an adapter from my laptop vga output to a s-video with a simple cable?

does it works? or best solution is buy a converter hdmi to s-video and obviously use HDMI output of laptop?

I have the laptop dell studio 1555 and my TV is a sony without HDMI input (just scart and s-video)

    thank you
