How are these two cards for gaming. A few laptops I'm looking at have these with 1024 mb VRAM. How does the 240 compare to the 260?I want to play pretty much every game that I can. I'm looking at the Asus G71GX-RX05 from best buy but I found two laptops by Sager on xoticpc. So if anyone can tell me how these cards stack up to the GTX 260M with 1024mb VRAM that'd be great. The Sagers both have 2.8ghz core 2 duos while the Asus has 2.53ghz. Would the processor make up for it if the vid cards were a little worse?

If possible get the gtx 260, the 4650 and 240 can't compare.

Dear God, the GTX 260m would wipe with the floor with both of those cards.

They're not bad cards, but the GTX 260m is in an entirely different class.

Here's where my noobiness comes into play and I've always wanted to know this... What is the difference between cards if they have the same VRAM. I assume it has to do with shaders and such, but could someone enlighten me?

shaders, clock speeds and memory bus width. they have a much bigger impact on performace than the amount of memory. read the sticky

I'm currently using an ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro. I'm proud of it even though it's horrible. Long live 256mb VRAM and Shader 3.0 support!
