Ok i've currently suck with the stock drivers that i got with my laptop for awhile now and i think it's time for an update as the company i bought the laptop from hasn't released any driver updates.

could you link me a good set of drivers please as im not sure if i should stick, download a 9 version or go for the latest beta drivers

i play BFbc2 mainly now adays and i've heard that there should be an update with a reduced loading time for 4XXX cards soon

Note: If you have a Toshiba or Sony laptop, you will not be able to use those drivers.

He can use them. Just download the installer from strags.com instead of the downloader.

Thanks, i think i've installed them correctly after like the 3rd try -.- first time resulted in BSOD randomly but otherwise seems to have worked.

also i see in the information centre that it says catalyst version 09.7 even though i downloaded 10.3.... something to be concerned about?

yea, you need to uninstall all catalyst drivers, then reboot in safe-mode and run a program called "driver sweeper" to remove all the remaining ATI files (thats why it's still say version 9.7), then reboot and install the desired version you want

You don't really have to do anything. It is just a labeling problem but the drivers are the 10.3 ones.

But both Toshiba and Sony backed out of having support for their notebooks...

There's nothing in the driver itself that prevents Sony/Toshiba/Panasonic laptops from using them. The restriction is only in the ATI downloader.

They're a combined x86/x86-64 installer. I installed the strags.com driver on my 64bit Envy and it works fine (I like the strags package because it has all the extra bits like the AVIVO encoder and such included)
