    Hey guys

I've been using Sony Vegas for quite some time and recently upgraded to version 11. This version is supposed to be compatible with GPU rendering with some ati cards. When I click in rendering setting it says that OpenCl is available but once I start rendering it crashes. So my question is is the 5650 capable or not of GPU rendering ? GpuZ reports it as OpenCl compatible btw.

Note: I am able to render using GPU using the catalyst video rendering feature ...

    Thanks for any tips/insights

Update drivers first, then try a clean install. Since it uses Madd cores you should be able to render video

You need to install APP software which is included with the latest drivers.

On a side note, having only used Vegas Pro 9, would the GPU acceleration in 11 support the C-50 APU in my tablet as well?

AMD Catalyst video encoding uses AMD Stream rather than DirectCompute or OpenCL.
    (As far as i know)

AMD APP is bundled with all newer drivers, and can also be downloaded on AMDs homepage.

Yes the c50 Apu should be supported, I'm not %100 on that but since it has stream processors I'd assume so.

I do have latest catalyst/driver. Im gonna try the AMD APP as a separate install. The wierd thing is that the AVC codec detects my OpenCl GPU but then it crashes when I start rendering. I will post back with more results . Thanks for the tips so far !

Scretch that - false alarm no gpu usage at all again :(
