http://strags.com/ has CATALYST 10.5 beta available. It's looks like a significant upgrade from CAT 10.3 which has 8.712 display driver - CAT 10.5 beta has 8.730. HydraVision is working on mobilities and there's a new option on the advanced control panel for encoding video. It also supports integrated graphics switching.

This looks like the driver i downloaded yesterday , it did not work with my HD4330 switchable graphics see sig, it just gave a black/blank screen :(

EDIT : I just installed this again and got the black/blank screen , but after re-booting all is fine.

I have run 3dmark06 and i only get a slight increase from 10.3 nothing to write home about.

    STOP POSTING THIS!!!!

Terry Makedon specifically addressed this Catalyst. He specifically said he has no idea what it is, where it's from and said he would never load it!

I posted this in another thread you posted before also.

Terry Makedon also said Catalyst 10.4 will be the next one and it won't be released before the 11th.

For those that don't know, Terry Makedon is the man in charge for ATi Catalyst development.

I wouldn't touch this 10.5 "BETA" driver with a ten-foot pole. Clearly it's fake. They haven't even released 10.4 BETA drivers so I HIGHLY doubt this is legit. If you downloaded and installed this, I highly recommend you remove them and run some in-depth virus and spyware scans. Next time be a little more cautious about downloading software, even if it seems legit.

    Pfth...

Been using for a couple of days, they are fine. Clearly a boost in BC2, and theres a new "Video converter" included in CCC.

All this driver making is very weird, it doesnt go as linear.
If you look at nVidias way of making drivers, theres sometimes newer build numbers with older creation dates than some drivers with 'older' build numbers

This driver is fine; it's digitally signed by ATI therefore there's no possible way it could be faked/modified - I mean at least the display driver part. It might be possible that some other software part is modified but everyone that's checked it hasn't seen a problem. Terry@ATI isn't saying it's fake, it looks more like he's declining to comment and doesn't know who the source is.

It look like 10.5 contains intel drivers as well, have a look at the new control panel.

Yeah one with INTEL + ATI drivers included.

I use the free commodo time machine to make a recovery point, it only takes a second, and i can recover my notebook in under 2 mins if i kill it. :)

From an undisclosed source. As far as anyone knows, it could have installed a keylogger or backdoor worm so new that it is undetectable by your anti-virus software.

I've been running these for a few days as well with no issues. From all of the other forums I read there haven't been any issues with it - some desktop users are thinking it might be a beta leak with fixes for the 2D problems that the 5000 series is experiences.

I hope 10.4 has loading time fix for BFBC2, you would think these would be 10.4 Beta... kinda skipped over 10.4

    Maybe they are 10.4?

Either way i can't seem to get it to install CCC. :/ It installs everything else besides CCC (Had this issue before with 10.3 And idk how to fix it) I formatted etc and still won't. Anyone got any ideas?

10.5 has been running flawlessly for 2 days now. The strags D/L package installed completely (unlike 10.3 final) and it now has full Hydravision (tab) controls as well as a new Video converter option, the only issue I see is it is not digitally signed (but it is a beta). If it was fake, as some claim, I highly doubt that they would have gone to the trouble of making those 'fixes'. Also Strags has a history of being the first out with new beta's and I have never had any problem with what they offer.

The large file size, it appears, is due to having all OS options in the one D/L, it must auto sense your system and only installs what's needed.

So far I see an improvement in 3Dmarkvantage, default settings up to P5057 from P4997. Max OC up 50 pts. to P6604.

Here is what info center shows for versions: ATI 10.5.PNG It shows by the ATI numbering system that this is actually still a 10.3 revision and not a new 10.4 or 10.5 driver and CCC package.

Thats because none of (most) leaked ATI drivers dont have a packaging number on them so it keeps your old number.

umghh sorry for my relative stupidity with ATI drivers , but what's Hydravision? Is it the software part which allows ATI and NVDIA cards to be used in same desktop?

It's seems evident to me, this is not an ATi problem as in something ATi needs to fix. This seems to be a DICE/EA problem that they need to address and fix.

On Guru3D some claim this supposed "10.5" does fix the ATi issue. No more flickering when using X-Fire in BC2

Hydravision is ATi's ability to have multiple desktops running on one screen. So you can switch from desktop to desktop.
