I have noticed under windows task manager there are two instances of "ati2evxx.exe" and "CLI.exe". Is this normal? I have found conflicting opinions on several google searches. Do I need to uninstall, use DriverCleaner then reinstall if this is not normal?

    Thanks,
    Zack

I have two "ati2evxx.exe" processes running, but I don't have any "CLI.exe" processes; perhaps that is because I do not have the Catalyst Control Panel installed. Do you?

When I run the Catalyst drivers and CCC I get multiples of those files also.

Yeah, I have been running the Catalyst control center. Is the Catalyst control center not worth running? Does it take up too many resources? If so please let me know, I would rather remove it or use another lesser impacting utility if there is one. My 3DMark05 scores seemed ok with the control center running (4030 with the 6.11 Catalysts and no overclocking).

Also, I posted a question about this in another forum but might as well try here too. Recently I attempted to use Asus NBProbe on my Z96J. It worked fine except for the temperature sensor and fan speed. The temperature registered at 42906749°C!! So obviously there is some disconnect with the program on this laptop. (Only registers 46°C with Mobometer). Does it only work with certain Asus laptops or do I have something configured incorrectly?

    Thanks.

cli.exe is one for CCC and one for the icon in tray.

    Remove CCC.

    Use Ati tray tools.

Faster and cleaner and more powerful.
