Just in case some of you's don't know about this, but ATI Catalyst and mobility Catalysts 6.7 are now available.
One quick question though, why are the Catalyst frivers 30+ MB when the mobility Catalyst are less than 1MB?
Thanks for all replies!

the download for mobility catalyst is only a little program that looks for updates for the installed driver, its not the driver itself.
just run it, and let it do its thing, it automatically has the latest driver(6.7 i believe). -
Can you still do the clean installation of drivers? I mean if you remove the old driver completely and then run the mobility catalyst.

Right; if you tried to download the Mobility drivers through ATI without following the direct link posted in the guide, then it will make you go through a verification process.
Yes, that will work . . if you uninstall the old drivers first, then install the new ones, that's considered a clean installation. -
Could someone do a direct link to the download itself? My laptop can't download these from the website and instead it sends me to HP/Compaq. However there drivers are old. I don't know why it does that since the drivers work for me. I just can't get past the verification process.
Thanks,

My friend wants to know if this will work on a ATI 200M 128mb? Thanks

Dont install the CCC, just the drivers, then get ATI Tray Tools instead.

Hi i recently tried to install the Catalyst drivers you mentioned and it failed saying that i needed to have a VGA driver already installed!?? I installed the Omega Drivers 6.5 before and they were a pain as the my screen resolution kept resetting to 1024*768!
Does anyone have any suggestions??
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 with the x200 and want to squeeze some more performance out of it as iv heard you can!.. -
Thank you Chaz.
BTW what version are these drivers?
Thanks again,

They're the latest Catalyst Mobility 6.7. -
*UPDATE*
Recently I made a mistake in my first post in the thread. I forgot to mention the 6.7 are out. I just said catalyst/mobility catalyst are out. I'm sorry if this has caused any confusion for any of you's. Here is an update in the latest text.

I hope that cleared off a few things off your head.... -
No, sorry but these ones have a lowest requirement of Mobility Radeon 9600. It won't run on integrated systems.
-
I think it means that you have to have an official ATI Catalyst driver installed. Omega drivers are considered a modified Catalyst to improve performance and allow overclocks. It is considered an unofficial driver. And as I mentioned above, ATI integrated graphic cards are not supported by these latest drivers. Sorry.
-
SO what is the newest version of the mobility drivers i can get? and where can i get them? I think my drivers are only the Catalyst version 4.7 or something.....
-
the latest version atm is 6.7 iirc.

at the bottom of this page, you will find a small program that will automatically see if you have to update your drivers, and prompt you to download the latest one if neccesary. -
The latest Catalyst is 6.7. But you won't be able to run them because it doesn't
support integrated graphic cards. -
I recently installed the mobility Catalyst 6.7's from the direct link posted elsewhere on this forum. They work great and I am running F.E.A.R. at very respectable framerates with most settings on max.
Ahh, here it is:

Yeah so what are the latest drivers some1 with an X200 can get??? I know 6.7 isnt compatible but what about slightly older drivers?? And if there are some available..where can i get them?
-
Maybe you can get older drivers but you'll probably have to google find the older drivers. And also, you might want to try tweaked catalyst drivers called Omega Drivers. They can be found at www.omegadrivers.net.
-
i think you will need these drivers for an onboard card. they are also 6.7 already btw.
-
You can get integrated ATI drivers here:
