ATI Graphics Problem

Just got a new lenovo laptop yesterday, W500 with the ATI Mobility FireGL V5700 with 512MB VRAM (or Radeon 3650 it says in my computer).

And i keep getting an error that crashes my game everytime i try it... but i looked for updates with windows update and there is nothing. Any suggestions?


Ill paste the error into here when i get back home, but maybe there is an easy fix i just dont know about?

 

Care to share the specifics on that error? If an error dialogue pops up, what does it say? More information might make this problem easier to solve.

I suggest you download ATI's desktop driver for your specific FireGL graphics card; use a program called the Mobility Modder to allow the desktop drivers to be installed for your mobile GPU.

Steps:
- download the ATI driver
- install Mobility Modder, use it to modify the ATI driver so that it can be installed
- Uninstall your current drivers: Right-click Computer > Properties > Device Manager > Display > Uninstall device
- Restart the computer
- Install the modified ATI driver
- Restart

 

When you say download the driver, this is what i should download from that website correct?

I just downloaded the latest desktop driver from ATI's site (seemed more "authentic"). Also, I have Vista 64 bit and did not need to download MSXML 6.0.
