As the title implies, are there any laptops with the ATI X2600 out? I hear it's doing quite better than the nVidia 8600m GT.

Supposedly the ASUS F8s has it but news and info around that notebook is almost nil.

There are no notebooks being sold yet with that card yet. The HP Compaq 8510p is one notebook with an HD 2600. By the way, there is no "X2600" - ATI no longer designates their GPUs with an "X" prefix. It is "HD", then a space, then the model number with the designation letters attached to the end. Ex: "HD 2600XT".

Isn't the HD 2600 supposed to be only on par with the 8600M GS? I haven't even heard of any laptops due to come out with the HD 2600 XT yet...

I would wait until some actual games are tested to draw some conculsions about this graphics card. nVidia's cards have been scoring quite well in syntehtic benchmarks, but in game performance hasn't been quite as amazing. The same could be tru for the HD 2600 XT.

They must have tested it with beta drivers and all. Impressive!

Do we know what resolution they benchmarked? Notebookcheck doesnt really seem to care about resolution because their score for the 8600M GS is from the Samsung R70 review which they did at 1280x800

Apparently it was tested at 1680x1050, but keep in mind its probably got some seriously high clocks in a 20" laptop.

Is there even a difference between the 2600 and 2600xt other than clock speeds? (There usually isn't in ATi's case). It might be cheaper to get the former and then overclock if the unified shaders are the same in both.
