    Interesting,

    http://hwbot.org/hardware.compare.do?type=gpu&id=1448_1&id=1464_1

Take a look. Theres insufficient data on everything for the 3850 except the 3DMark05 benchmark. It was very close to the 9800M GTS. Even the 06' if correct was trailing with the 9800M GTS.

This is strange, perhaps over clocking core plays a huge roll. Look at the bottom, the over clocking core speed, the 3850 can get up to 71% increase!

Thats huge!. Whats your thoughts, opinions, is HwBot messed up?...

There is an important question when overclocking is involved: how long can it be stable? Without that answer I would highly doubt any claim of huge overcloking and such, regardless of how reputable the website may be or not.

I don't believe that. A 71% increase in core clock requires some serious cooling. Even LN2'd CPUs struggle to get that high of an overclock percentage wise. I can't even overclock my 3870s past 10% without artifacting and the only difference between mobility 3850s and mobility 3870s is the latter has more voltage available. They might have compared it to it's 2d clocks rather than its 3d clocks, which would make more sense if anything.

Yea, perhaps the person just got lucky and ran 3DMark with a big overclock and didn't crash.

I don't see how anyone got so high with a 3850m. 7k and 8k, I can believe that, but 9k, yea right.

what i was wondering, is say you take your core clock from 530mhz to 800mhz. what happens in the short term period?
