Okay, this is for my almost 6 year old laptop. The current one, actually, until T61P comes in.

Anyway, I just wonder if I can update my graphic card (driver). I went on ATI website and found nothing for my Mobility 9000.

I play WC3 and used to play the first Counter Strike that was out (don't know if there's CS2 or whatever).

The current driver I have is version 6.13.10.6133 dated 8/1/2002.

I'm still going to be using this laptop until it blows up or melts down.

Edit: Sorry, I meant to say a more up to date driver.

I thought the same thing but when the 2nd post said the same thing I used common sense and figured OP edited which he did, and admits to 19 minutes B/4 you posted. I have no insults not worth my time but keep in mind for the future. I am going to take cover b/4 the flaming starts.

Umm, I did say update from the start, and not upgrade. I just made it more clear by adding (driver) in my edit and the part that says edit.

Anyway, thanks for the link! Time to check it out.

Downloaded new driver. It's a no go. Says it is unable to find components that can be installed on my current hardware or software.

Okay, I found a driver dated 2003 on Dell's website. It's still newer than the driver I had. No idea what changes or improvement.

Somtimes when you call people dumb or some other insult they respond in kind. So all I meant was figuratively I am going to stand clear b/4 the insults start (continue) that's all. The acknowledgment of the mistake should make things fine.

Atomic, I don't think anyone wants to criticize you, you are not the first and you won't be the last to drop one word. But with that said, what you said first at absolute best was ambiguous, and more reasonably, from what you said, they correctly inferred, you were replacing GPU. To try and say, well I didn't say "such and such" is not fair to the first two posters who correctly interpreted and then responded. Don't apologize but don't make excuses that throw it back on them.
"Updating" A CPU means replacing it, it means the same with a GPU.

No more insults or people will get punished by the MOD's like I have in the past!

    Edit: Now current.

Okay. Not looking to argue... no one is right or wrong. Thanks for the help guys. Let me know if there is a newer driver that I can download. The newer driver that I did download is still from 2003. But I am not having any trouble with the driver that I do have. You know, you never know that something is wrong until something better comes along. Umm, well, more like you settle with what you have until you know you can have better.

Hey, I also STILL have an radeon 9000 laptop! the HP zv5202us! While I gave it to my little bro, it's still within reach and running.

The latest and BEST drivers that work, are the Omega catalyst drivers based catalyst 6.4 The 6.5-6.6 drivers work, but are buggy, so the best you can get is 6.4

LOL, I read the thread and I was wondering why people were screaming at the guy that he could not upgrade his graphics card when he was just asking if he could update his graphics driver.

    LOL.

ATI stopped supporting the Radeon 9000 in their drivers way back around Cat 6.5. 6.6 and up don't cover your GPU. So that's about as high as you can go.

With my old Radeon 9000 I used Cat 6.5 drivers off omegadrivers.net, but you can still find them around the net.
