I have a Dell Studio XPS with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670 graphics card. My problem / question is that my dad have the exact same graphics card yet his screen resolution is higher than mine. Is there a way that I can get mind higher than 1366 X 768. Ive even seen other Dell 1640 thats less powerful than mine but can have a higher resolution than mine. BTW my drivers and everything related is updated is there some short hack that I can do to force Vista too recieve a higher resolution. I know the computer will handle it so thats not a issue.

You can't increase your resolution since it's your LCD panel that is maxed out (unless you did in fact upgrade your LCD). Other components are not related, so you can have the baseline configuration with upgraded screen and run it at a higher resolution than your machine. Your GPU can only run at the max resolution of your LCD or less. Right click on the desktop and personalize, display settings. If you don't see anything higher than your current resolution, you're SOL.

Screen resolution isn't limited by the card until you get up to the max display resolution, which on most cards these days is 2560 x 1600. If you want, you can connect your laptop to an external display with a higher resolution.

there are several different LCD panels available for that laptop. you probably chose the lower resolution one when you configured it when u bought it.
