So I'm looking into buying a laptop from Best Buy and I hear Toshiba is the most reliable. Here is a link to the one I picked out

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...t&productCategoryId=cat15157&id=1122652836448

I play World of Warcraft and I'm wondering how nice this grafics card is. Will it last awhile? As in, be able to play newer games for a couple of years? If this is a crappy card, is it possible to switch it out for something more powerful?

Here are the specs incase the link fails...

    Intel Centrino with Pentium M 760 2.0GHz
    1GB ram
    100GB hard drive
ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 600 SE 128MB
    Model: M65 S9092

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

That card is OK for WoW. I've seen it played on a regular X600 and it was fine.

The problem with the SE cards is that they have a 64-bit memory interface, so you'll have about ~35% less performance in some cases - especially in games with large textures. Don't expect stellar performance.

I'm not sure if it will last you a few years - 64-bit memory interface really kills it, plus the X600 only has 4 pixel pipelines and 2 vertex engines....adequate for right now though.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks for responding!

Is it possible to upgrade the video card? Would that last me longer? Is there anything that will hold me back from upgrading? Like I can upgrade to 2GB of RAM and that's it. But I'm assuming other things will grow outdated and be unable to upgrade before I need more RAM.

I'm sorry if my questions aren't very clear. I know virtually nothing about computers. Thanks again for all the help!

That's OK if you don't know that much about computers - that's what we are here for! ;)

Unfortunatley, it is not possible to upgrade the graphics card. It is made specifically for that notebook, and nothing else will work. If you're willing to consider a different laptop, you could complete the 'What Should I Buy' FAQ . Just copy + paste, then put it in the hardware forum.
