Hi there,
i posted a thread in the HP section where i was possible to overclock my ATI Mobility 4650 in my HP Pavilion DV7-2070eg from stock 500/667 to 680/800 with the latest Catalyst drivers and it runs stable and blazing fast.
here is the link to the HP Section:

You forgot the
Be careful - overclocking is dangerous and not support by warrenties
Part ^^
But yeah, overclocking does have its +' -
-
The 4650 is ATI's higher end lower end card isnt it? -
I am from Germany and at work now... -
Vantage is what you want to bench not 3dmark 06
-
-
All this did was stall and not respond. Is it not compatible with windows 7?
-
the latest drivers are compatible with w7 so i dont see why not
-
how hot does it run when you overclock by that much?
-
-
+ Rep I Love This!!! :d
-
Would this work on the "SUPER FAST" ATI mobiltiy radeon hd 3450.
-
-
How about underclocking can that harm the gpu IN any way whatsoever
-
Bench in whatever you like really
3dmark06 is more of a system performance overall mark if you want to stress a high end gpu try vantage but tbh i am not a fan of vantage, i prefer 3dmark06 -
Hi Folks, here now a few screens...

The AMD OC tool has worked for me and is a good alternative since I cant even install these drivers on the W90, also when all else fails there is GPU BIOS flashing
-
-
Great overclocking mate
Does anyone knows if this HD4650 is MXM? -

but I fixed it.

Can you list some directions on under clocking it.
Btw increasing core clock makes ........
Increase memory makes........
Please fill in the blanks. -
Um, should we turn off ATI's Powerplay?
-
-
MANN i got so excited when i saw this so i uninstalled my old cats 8.10s and immeadiatly installed the new 9.6 thinking YES I CAN FINALLY OC with new drivers but sadly i dont think it works my with toshiba a300 hd3650 unless im doing sumthing wrong. i change the clocks and press apply but the current clocks read the same clocks as always and gpu-z also says the same so i now im
help oringal poster how do u use this thing?
-
never overclock a laptop !!
people look for undervolting !! -
NEVERMIND MY LAST POST, this thing works its the real deal! for sum reason the new clocks dont show up in sum others programs but in game testing reveals the overclock is indeed real, thanks a lot og for this program
for example i took my 3650 from 600,500 to 800, 600 for a 10fps boost in cod4!! -
yodawg just make sure you get good cooling. And amrelsaqqa why do you say that?
-
unless you do it at your own risk and know what you are doing, don't do it
laptops are unlike desktops.
a desktop 'normal' idle temperatures are relatively low compared to a laptop
this makes a chance for overclocking or even more and more overclocking with an enhanced cooling system
but the situation is different with laptops where temperature is difficult to be controlled due to limited space and limited cooling system expansion
also if you damaged the gpu, you can't replace it on most systems
and of course any damage with a laptop is costly -

Does this applies to the 3670 too ?
( I have Dell Studio XPS 16 ) -
My temps only went up 1-3C too. And i only set the clocks only when I game. When i browse the web and listen to music its on its default clocks.
-
I still can't overclock my Studio 17's HD3650.
Heck, I can barely even get any type of drivers (other than the default Win7 one) to install, and when I manage it, my performance tanks. -
Its probably because you are using windows 7. It should work fine in vista.
-
I understand 4670 is technically an overclocked version of 4650. Can anyone compare an overclocked 4650 with a stock 4670 to verify this?
-
compare an overclocked 4650 with a stock 4670
HP DV7-2043cl and MSI EX625

i just scored 7943 on my toshiba a505.
overclocked 4650 1gb ddr3 and stock cpu at 2.1ghz t6500.
4650 to: 760/945
idles at 53degrees
very nice! -
I cant overclock it either.
Its because Dell has locked up our card..
Anyways a 4670 should be getting around 6800-7000 Points in 3dMark 06 -
Well you can always try... ppl said that that Hp had locked the BIOS in Dv5 and i was able to overclock with NVDIA system tools... remember one thing, when OCing , some programs like NVDIA system tools don't work unless your laptop is on AC power...
ATI Mobility overclocking now possible with latest drivers!!!
