I have been using NHC for some time with the regular ati drivers. I just switched over to the Omega drivers and now my ati clock doesnt lower when i unplug. Why?

Perhaps PowerPlay got disabled. Go Desktop Properties, Settings tab, Advanced, then check out the screenshot I uploaded. Let us know if that fixes it.

PowerPlay is enabled in both the display properties and in NHC.
Does disabling atiptaxx.exe in startup items have anything to do with this?
According to NHC, the ATI clock is at 445.50 / 369.00 MHz weather im plugged in or not. -

What does ATI Tray Tools say your clocks are when unplugged (assuming you have ATT installed - if not, it is a good utility to get) NHC could be reporting it wrong. Mouse over the ATI Tray Tools icon in the system tray and it will tell you the clocks.
Another thing to check is your power settings - go into the Control Panel and double-click Power Options; change it to Portable/Laptop. -
I have it installed but not running. I openned it up and get a confirmation window.
the ati hotkey poller is currenty running. if you want to make use of the ati tray tools, low-level overclocking this service needs to be deactivated, while it must be present in background to use ati overdrive 3 overclocking. do you want to diable the ati hotkey poller now?
Im not familiar with this app, but i installed it when installng the omega's.
Oh, also, the power settings are set to home/office desk. Last time i messed with the power options i swear ir was set to laptop
I set to laptop and there is no change to the ati clock according to NHC -
Try turning off PP in NHC completely. Don't let it control PP. Try then. I use to have what I found RANDOM issues with POwerplay (for example it works great and after a while I realise it doesn't anymore, but I haven't changed anything, and next time I look at it or reinstall drivers - it works again.)
And ATT can disable ATI hotkeypoller, but I never actually have this issue because I never install CCC. I use ATT instead. I didn't know that omega installs it. It is a long time since I used omegas, so I probably forgot that.

I turned off PowerPlay in NHC, then made sure it was on in display properties and it wasnt. I turned it on.
I now have Ati TrayTools running in the tray and all the sensors are on zero!
I unplugged and NHC is still shoing the ati clocks full speed
I have an asus s96j with x1600 -
I uninstalled NHC, still no clock speeds on ATT. I then reinstalled NHC, still no clock speeds on ATT and still listing full clock speeds in NHC when unplugged.
Guess i should go back to ati's drivers? -
LMBfishingCT: I had the same problem last time I used omega drivers and were overclocking, i couldnt get the clockspeeds to turn down when unplugging, i found that when you disable the hotkeypoller, then powerplay dosent work, i reinstalled the ATi drivers and uninstalled ATT and vupti, Powerplay worked once again... You can use ATT, but do not disable hotkeypoller if you want to use powerplay, i still use ATT when overclocking
This might be a little off-topic, but does the omega drivers have the Avivo-untility as the ati ones does?? I ask why, because im tired of the CCC that demands around 60 mb of ram, which i find a lot for a driver controlling program... -
What is CCC?
Im guessing that has something to do with ati drivers and .net?
I uninstalled omegas and reinstalled the ati drivers. Power play is now working again. -

CCC = Catalyst Control Center
Everyone's notebook is different (software installed, hardware configuration) - on my notebook, I have NHC, ATT, and the Omega 6.9 drivers installed; CCC is not installed. It works fine with PowerPlay, never had a problem.
You simply have to find what works for you. It looks like you did, so good job.
ATI Omega drivers, NHC ATI clock settings?
