I've searched this, and nothing's come back so I'm a bit confused, is it only for the 9xxx series chips? It seems like it'd be a great idea to use in conjunction with my x1600, but I can't seem to find the option anywhere in the catalyst control panel.

    Any suggestions?

They nerfed that feature in the Catalyst Control Center a while back.
