I was looking to buy the Asus F3Jr, which has an ATI x2300 GPU, when I noticed that in its official specs is not mentioned H264 support. I knew that this GPU was based on the x1300, which does accelerate H264 content - did they disable this in the x2300 in order to promote the HD2300? Or is it just an omission so people won't be confused when comparing x2300 and HD2300? The HD2300 uses UVD for H264 acceleration, while x2300 should still use the Avivo technology; I hope they haven't completely disabled H264 support in x2300 just to promote HD2300.

Also, is there an email address for inquiries where I could write ATI about this? The customer support on their site seems to be only for customers which have already registered their product.

The ATI Radeon is better than the x1300, but nVIDIA is now on top of ATI, and I would try to find that.
