" Valve, a leading entertainment and technology studio, announced plans to deliver free games to all owners of ATI Radeon graphics cards via Steam, a leading online platform for the distribution and management of digital content.
Effective immediately, all owners of ATI Radeon graphics cards may receive a free copy of Half-Life 2: Lost Coast and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch via Steam at: http://www.steampowered.com/ati_offer1a/ Steam will automatically confirm the presence of ATI Radeon hardware and then enable immediate access to full versions of the games free of charge.
For added convenience to new purchasers of ATI Radeon products, Steam will be included in all ATI Catalyst Software and Driver packages through early 2008.
Customers who purchase the new ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT will also receive, upon release via Steam, the highly anticipated trio of new games coming from Valve: Team Fortress 2, Portal, and Half-Life 2: Episode Two.
Some conditions apply. Customers will be required to download and install the Steam software, and will require an Internet connection."

Just curious if that means if it'll work for my MBP? They don't require a credit card number do they since I'm adverse to giving away so much personal information just for a free offer.
I guess this is ATI trying to make up for their underperforming hardware. -

if your macbook pro has an ati card, yes you can get those games for free.
don't expect too much and then get disappointed, though. -
correct me if i'm wrong Lost Coast is basically a demo,
and HL2 deathmatch,, is well just HL2 deathmatch right? -

HL2 Deathmatch suffers from some serious net code issues. its understandable, considering the depth of the game physics. it would be SWEET if there was no lag (LAN favorite)
Lost Coast is a demo. It has even less content than the actual demo of the game.
