Hi everybody, I am reinstalling Windows and downloading new drivers after a long time so I need help!
I am downloading drivers and utilities from official Acer download pages for my Acer Aspire 5112 WLMi but I need help with my graphic card.

I have an ATI X1300 128mb dedicated+128mb shared in my notebook and I want to download a new driver for it!
I went to ATI's driver download pages and there is ATI Catalyst™ Mobility 8.2 Display Driver available for download!
Is it any good and should I install it?

I am using old 6.12 ATI Catalyst right now!

There is no ACER listed in Notebook Manufacturers and System Integrators Supported, why is that?
My notebook also does not pass the Installation Verification Software test!!
Should I install this software for my graphic card at all???

In not, which software shoul I install???

    THANKS for your answers!!!

what...i had to read that twice to understand it, course i do that too so i shouldn't be complaining

It depends, sometimes the new drivers are not that great, so heres what i do:
    1. Get the newest and compare it to your performance on your old drivers
    2. if that doesnt work then get the second newest, e.g. say you had driver 1, and you upg to 1.5, but it didnt work, you would go back to driver 1.4, and so on

    Edit: WOOT 50th post

Emmm, ok, well I don't use ATI, I use nvidia, but i really like AMD, oh well, stupid trade-offs
anyway, im not entirely understanding you, if your card is not certified for the latest Catalyst drivers, then dont install them, it might not even let them install anyway

P.S. didnt htey just come out wiht Catalyst 7.1 back in August?

They changed it so that they release a new version every month where the 2nd (and 3rd if applicable) digits dictate the month and the 1st is the (year?).
