Damn, looks like there is going to be an IGP that's actually better than my 3650. That's pretty sad.

Doubtful that the notebook version of the HD 4200 will come close to the HD 3650, especially at higher resolutions.

    I certainly hope so.

Supposedly it is 15% better than the 9400M G, so do the math.
How does the 9400M G performs against the 3650HD, and then add a 15% to that result, and yo should get an estimated performance

Seems that it's fairly close competition then. The 9500M GS is a little better (20% maybe?) than the 9400M G, and the 3650 is equivalent to the 9500M GS.

So it would be (theoretically speaking) somewhere between 10-5% lower, on normal resultions.

I wonder if the 5200HD is coming out any time...

The HD 3650 GDDR3 is a bit better than even the the 9500M GS GDDR3 (which is a rebranded 8600M GT, though most are DDR2) in games. In medium-higher resolutions especially, the 128-bit bus and discrete memory sets itself apart from the 64-bit and integrated memory of the HD 4200.

LOL. Intel hasn't made a graphics chipset that was worth anything fo 3D yet, I'm not holding my breath. I would have to physically witness any graphics chip from Intel playing a game at a worthwhile resolution to believe they have made a real advancement. Even if they make a decent part, their drivers are so bad that the chip wouldn't be able to play anything anyway.

Don't kid yourself; when people are interested in getting a graphics chip (even an IGP) from nvidia or ATI, they are getting it to play games. To think that Intel is anywhere near those two in 3D graphics performance is a joke.
