I currently have an ATI mobility Radeon 9600 Pro dedicated card in my 6 year old Dell Inspiron 8600...
    Thinking of going Mac...
Just wondering how the 9400M w/256MB shared memory ( I think..) compares to my old Radeon?? For games like Flight Simulator, etc.
    Thanks!

Flight Simulators are generally CPU intensive more than they are GPU intensive so either way you should be ok.

Well, short answer much better. Long answer, you're really replacing outdated equipment with less outdated equipment. If it's gaming performance your interested in, than look for a more recent card, like the HD 45xx/48xx or Nvidia 200 series (I'm not sure what Apple offers). If you're just going to be playing Flight Simulator, you'll obviously notice and appreciate the performance increase, but the 9400M won't get you all the bells and whistles in the current flight simulator, and for the next version of the game you're going to be even further behind.

Here's a video of FSX running on a macbook with that graphics card.

My old desktop with a Pentium D CPU and 8800m GTS always struggled with FSX...

...but maybe it was because I insisted on leaving the settings on the higher side :p
