    A good card for...........(insert games you wish to play)

    Its a "refreshed/rebranded" x1300/x1400 so it should perform around the same level of setting/gameplay as the the x1300/x1400

    and its NOT dx10 compatible so its not "future proof"

    ohhh ok then=] ill go for a different F series. The F3JP has an ati x1700, which i have heard to be quite good.

    The x2300 is quite a week card. The X1700 is easily double its power, most likely 2.5x. If you compare 3dmark05 scores, the x2300 gets ~1500 and the X1700 usually gets over 4000...

    Yeah, it is not powerful at all. Since you posted this in the gaming forum, we can only assume you intend to do some serious gaming with it.

    The F3Jp is a nice system to consider instead.

    go with the ati 1700 or if you have a choice get an nvidia 7900/7950

    I agree with the others. The Mobility X1700 is a much faster graphics card, and it will last longer, and play games better than the Mobility X2300. The Go 7900/7950 GTX is also a consideration, but they are only sold in 17" notebooks, and are generally more expensive.
