I'm just curious how the 4650 owners are enjoying their cards for mid-range gaming? What kind of frame rates are you guys getting?

I'm also curious about the 4650... Specifically on the video stress test in Coutner Strike:Source @1440x900

Isn't the 4650 quite a bit faster than nvidia's midrange mobile parts like the 230m / 9600gt and other rehashes of the same line?

I'm happy with mine as well. With stock clocks, I get 6000 3DMarks and I can safely OC it to bump it up to 7000. It isn't bad for a budget card.

I hear that the DDR2 4650 is as good as the 9600M GT DDR3 card in real life performance. The DDR3 4650 will destroy all nvidia midrange offering except for the new GT240M. The 4670 outperforms that though.

    I am jealous of the 4650/4670 DDR3 owners :p

always +30FPS when I overclock it.

    Nothing more I need.

hd4650 gddr3 destroys everything above.. even 240m. 4670 is just slightly above.

running aion on 1368x768 everthing maxed 8xAA 16xAF, vsync and get 60FPS easily. temp of graphic card after few hours of intense gaming is 60C,

My DD3 card runs really cool...I love how it does not get hot!!!

You can play any game on the market and into the future with good graphic settings...Not the super highest settings on the new ones...But still really good settings.

I'm really happy with mine. It allows me to game to decent settings, without forking the big bucks for a "gaming" lappy. So to me, it's the baseline for a REAL entertainment laptop . I can hook it up to my 40" BRAVIA LCD via HDMI (720P) and I get the exact same pixel count as my laptop screen, so no scaling involved here.

    Plays left 4 dead 2 nicely :)

    OCing the memory really helps.

Also the heatsink in the 6935 fits it properly.

my 9650m GT already handles all games nicely on high settigns with native res. So a superior 4650, will give you VERY nice results, except ofcourse....Crysis on ultra, but who likes that boring game anyway

In 3d mark i get almost 6000, my rig in the signature... one new processor would be nice though :)

EDIT: GTA IV runs at 30fps on mid-high settings, luv it ;)

The 4650 is much faster than the 240M.

Just look at Crysis, the 4650 can pull 25-34 fps at all high settings.

The 240M can only do 15-21 fps at all high settings. That's unplayable.

The 4650 can match the 9800M GS at resolutions at or below 720P. Fact ---> http://www.notebookcheck.net/typo3temp/pics/590669df3d.gif

Also, it seems the Compal KHLB2 has the fastest clocked 4650 at stock 600/800 and it still runs cool. HP and Sony underclock it a bit.

Has anyone tried any game at 1080p, especially if you enable any level of AA? I'm curious just how much the 128-bit memory interface bottlenecks it as it sounds as if the chip itself is plenty fast. I'm particularly interested in [semi]recent games such as Fallout 3, LFD2, and Dragon Age as in each there are bound to be multiple enemies on screen, particle effects, and quick movements of various objects, munitions, body parts, etc.

    Cheers :)

just fyi- that is the gddr3 version of the 4650, which is much faster than the ddr2 version (more common)- and it was matched up with a better cpu... still, point taken.

Hey there. Thanks for all these posts, they are proving to be quite helpful for me in making a decision on what system to buy tomorrow... probably.

This 4650 vs 4670 conversation may be quite helpful for me; I have started a thread with regards to this and some other factors I have to weigh up. Any advice here would be appreciated.

And here's the 3dmark06 score with the hd 4650 oc'd to 675/747. With a faster cpu i guess the scores could be in the 8000 range.

I'll post a screenshot on my 3Dmarks06 when I get on my laptop, by I'm puzzled about VanCapri's score of 5900 pts. I get that score with my *weaker* Amd ZM-82.
Well, that CPU runs hot as hell tho. 90 degrees celsius (UNDERVOLTED AT THAT!) after a few minutes of FAR CRY (the original)

You can buy this card in the HP DV7 and DV8 series and also you can buy it in a Dell XPS 16 but they have the HD4670 which is just a overclocked HD4650. Before they did have this card in the Toshiba A500 series but i dont know they still do

You can also get it in HP DV6z with Turion II Ultra M640, DELL Studio 17 i7 edition.

My buddy got the DELL Studio 17 i7 (HD4650 1 Gig GDDR3). His 3Dmarks06 score is 7000 points in Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits.

It's also in the Asus N81VP-D2 and X83VP.

These are the 14" laptops with the best GPU out there....

My 3DMark06 score is 6,639 with stock 4650 clocks.

How do you overclock the 4650/4670 under Windows 7 x64?

Awesome balance of weight/performance/price. I paid $650 for my HP with the 4650 in it and this is the best computing deal I've ever gotten.
