    Does anyone have any valid information regarding the launch of this GPU? Or the amount of money a laptop containing one of these GPU's is likely to cost when they arrive? (In US Dollars or GBP).

    The HD 3870 will most likely carry 1GB of VRAM like the HD 3650. As for release date there are only speculations that I know of.

    The GPU itself has been released to OEMs I believe. Laptops equipped it with should come in the next 2 months

    lol, exactly why I'm holding off. Dude I may just go with an old thinkpad r51 at the start of the semester until some real video card (256bit) are released in notebooks that configure under 2 grand... :(
