PowerPlay mode on my ATi X300 card reduces power consumption and temperatures more than underclocking does (I tried it). It's wonderful. With Powerplay on, the GPU fan rarely ever comes on.

However, when I've got the laptop hooked up to a secondary display through DVI, it's automatically kicked out of PowerPlay. Any idea why or how I can get it to stay in powerplay?
