The card is a beast. It sits firmly between the GTX 260m and the GTX 280m on most games.

    At 1680x1050:

Assassins Creed - Maxed, never under 30 fps
Crysis (Demo) - All High, 2xAA - never under 25 fps
GTA IV (with a dual core) - Medium Textures, No shadow, Very High everything else ~30 fps
Oblivion/Bioshock - looking for more settings to turn up.....nope, aren't any

Agreed. Better than a 9800m GT or GTX 260m, not as good as a GTX 280m for most instances.

There's probably not much difference (no difference?) between the (new) 1GB 4850 and the 512MB version. Havent seen proper benchmarks yet.

If you plan on playing at high resolutions such as 1680 x 1050 or higher than the 1GB card may be beneficial.

The 4850 is beast on the desktop and has been so for quite some time, the notebook version should be quite good.

I was think about getting that MSI notebook with a single 4850.I wish there were more systems out there with crossfire 4850s besides the old M17.From those benchmarks, the mobility 4850 is a very powerful card.

Is it true that the W90 is being discontinued?

Yeah but the MSI notebook looks horrible IMO. Like a discarded christmas decoration with that random red trim and buttons.

I have the 4670 mobility and it is a very capable GPU, 4850 mobility should easily meet a gamers' needs.
