These two cards will be available in 15.4 notebooks. i read the V5700 is suppose to rival the quadro 1700 which is say the geforce 9700m/GT thus meaning its better than the quadro fx 770 (geforce 9600m/GT) and way better than the 3650 even if its GDDR3. So wot is it really based off? as i hear it based off the 46XX series
Question is which one will be better and does anyone no if they can get any more info on these cards like the stock speeds as it helps me decide what notebook to purchase.

In this translated review of the W500, the FireGL V5700 scored 4,693 in 3DMark06. According to Nvidia's pages on the 770m and the 1700m the only difference appears to be that the 770m uses up to 35W and the 1700m uses up to 50W. I'd assume this means the 1700m has higher clocks than the 770m.

I think the 1700m will be the more powerful one.

thanks for your reply. so the 1700m will be better than the V5700? and do u think its likely the 1700m is basically the quadro version of the 9700m/GT?
THe reason the V5700 may have scored as low as it has could be like what they done in the 8510p, underclocked it? so myabe when they update it it may score like 5000+ in 3d 06.
Either way i think they be both good. i just think that the 1700m will have higher clocks but the V5700 has more memory bandwidth if that makes that much difference.

Can i get opinions on what card people would preffer as now tho its still too early to say? Thanks in advance.

Why are you comparing openGL accelerated cards by 3dmark06? That sounds a little pointless to me. Shouldn't you be comparing them based on thier performance in rendering apps?

Even if 3dmark06 is just a synthetic benchmark it is so ubiquitous that it is usually included. Besides, some people buy workstation notebooks for gaming (e.g. T61p for college student).

my 1600m scores around 5k 3dmark06, the v5700 scores around 4800... I'm assuming the 1700m should be a bith mroe powerful.

hi where did u get the bench for V5700? its a wonder if it is downclocked. if so maybe they need to test it to see if the notebook wont over heat like in the 8510p when they relased a bios for its norla stocks. so it coud go over 5000 in the 3d 06 score. i guess that the fx 1700m will be lsight better. but want i also want to no is how the laptop thinkpad w500 v the dell m4400 compares when using both in full power mode for gaming. as this two notebooks will have either GPU. besides build quality. What would every one choose. the w500 V5700 or M4400 FX 1700m? Both notebooks are 15.4 inch and can be configured exaclty the same.
    thanks for replies
