ATi has finally released the new 11.1 drivers!
But I can't see that "Tesselation slider"? Downloading drivers atm and will say if it increased my performance.
AMD Catalyst? 11.1 Release Notes
ATI Catalyst? Mobility Display Driver
EDIT : I'm having probs : I can't install it; I DL the file above, run it, it DLs the drivers, then stops in 62.2MB and says its concluded. When I try to run the file, it says corrupted file. Deleting it doesn't work.
EDIT 2 : I have managed to install it. But I can't launch the CP.
EDIT 3 : It is installed and working, but NO TESSELATION SLIDER!!!
EDIT 4 : If you want to see if there was an improvement in performance, check my other thread : http://forum.notebookreview.com/gaming-software-graphics-cards/550831-ati-11-1-drivers-review.html

Will try these to see if they've fixed OpenGL games crashing at startup. I'm not hopeful, but a guy can dream, can't he?
-
I think it has increased my FPS in Metro
2033. I will 3D Mark 11 and vantage later. -
Looks like the second link is only for the 10.11's, so here are direct download links for the mobility drivers:
64bit Vista/Win7
32bit Vista/Win7
Avivo package:
Win Vista/7 (32/64)
And the app profiles if you have a crossfire lappy:
http://www2.ati.com/DRIVERS/hotfix/catalyst_application_profiles/amd_catalyst_10.12_cap2.exe -
I downloaded the 11.1 installer for Win7 64-bit, installation has gone without any problems, new CCC has been installed, AMD Video Converter now works, yet both GPU-Z and CCC show that the driver version is 10.12. Even when I run the installer again, it shows that it's going to install the driver version 8.812.0.0000 (which is 10.12). Is this normal? Where is the updated 11.1 driver?
Edit:
The release notes say that the 11.1 package contains display driver version 8.812, so I guess everything is as it should be... -
Same here , it shows up as 10.12 on my 725 and 10.3 on my desktop ... not a big deal really as long as the version version is 8.812
-
Odd, when I click I see 11.1... I'm doing a separate thread to review the performance. So far, the gain is HUGE!
-
I'm seeing pretty good improvements. Normal tesselation in the Heaven benchmarks only hits me for about a 20% performance penalty, much less than it used to. And with my standard overclock I can run the whole benchmark without it even dipping into the single-digit framerates.
Good work, AMD
They do content caching through Akmai, so it could be that the local Akmai node that I'm looking at hasn't been updated for whatever reason. If it works for you, great, but if anyone else is in the same boat I was there are now direct links
It'll also be helpful for people who have machines from companies like Toshiba and Sony that have opted out of ATI's mobile driver program. -
I haven't done the heaven benchmark, but have an increase from P1169 points to P1210 in 3D Mark 11!!!
I'm running Vantage atm, will see the score. -
Does it have MLAA?
-
My 5830 says no. I think that's a 6xxx series feature. But perhaps a hack may work: http://www.highdefforum.com/gaming-...ng-mlaa-6xxx-series-4xxx-5xxx-locked-out.html
-
Damnit. I tried the leaked 11.1 drivers last week with the modded mobility version that supposedly had the MLAA without needing a hack but it wasn't there.
-
Really? I increased my 3DMark11 from P1461 to P1462!!!!! Seriously.. not really much of a difference for me. The drivers installed and work just fine though, and the new CCC is much improved.

Reading through the release notes, only one thing came to mind. Meh.
-
Epic sarcasm is epic xD
The drivers made a huge difference IN EVERYTHING. 3D Mark 11 and vantage were great examples.
BTW, check my 11.1 drivers review

My Vantage GPU score has risen from 8973 to 9207 with the same GPU clocks (840/1090). Not a huge improvement, but every little bit helps...
-

Nope. Still not fixed.
Though these drivers appear to be the same as the 10.12 set. The only thing that's really different is the new CCC, which I don't care for to be honest. -
Not only that, they also have improved AMD Video Converter interface, which eventually works as it should have from the very beginning.
-
my GPU Vantage score went up to 9331 from 9099 at 835/1090
-
From what I've read MLAA is supposed to be available to 5xxx cards, but AMD can't seem to get much right anymore.
Yup, definitely missing some of the basics. We've had 100% functional DVD players for what, over 15 years?
At least they got part of the problem fixed
-
after install, Catalyst version is still 10.12
And Direct3D seems to have been downgraded:
8.14.10.0798 --> 7.14.10.0806 -
For some reason my WEI scores came down from 7.2 to 6.7 for the GPU. Anyone having the same problem?
Edit: A reboot and re-test fixed it -
clean the installation of the 10.12 before upgrading to 11.11
-
Im guessing the brightness key issue affecting those with switchable graphics is still there?
Maybe ill try these,- but it broke with 10.10 release and hp have not updated Quick Launch Buttons or Intel Graphics Driver for Microsoft Windows 7 for the tm2 in a long time. -
but after 10.x that was not necessary, you could just install the new ones over the old ones...
I did get the new CCC interface... should I try a clean install anyway? -
Not true and that isn't from AMD, just crap that some morons spread around.
Even AMD's official site states, UNINSTALL ALL old drivers before installing new one. -
As I see it. Things that don't matter.
-
abaddon4180 Notebook Virtuoso
I am seeing a little performance increase, maybe 5% tops, but it seems to make graphic switching quicker and I love the new look (don't know how long it has been like this, I have been on 10.6).
-
radeon 5650
I recommend the new drivers. Pretty sure my gpu temp went down like 5 degrees. but maybe thats because my old drivers were a few months old. -
right now i got a m17x r2 recently and im trying to download the ATI driver on the homepage "the one you guys are talking about" but dont i need to install VBOIS first?
becuase i thought i had to install something first before i install the ATI driver from the homepage because im only suppose to use dells drivers right? because right now i just got dells 5870's driver. and i want to install the ATI one, how do i do this? do i need to install anymore things?
in this post
http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...70-september-2010-incl-vbios-flash-guide.html
in the first post the guy said that you need to put the program on a flash drive and install it before windows starts, i didnt have to do that? i just opened the program from the desktop and install it? am i missing something? -
The VBIOS and drivers are two completely different things, that are only slightly related to each other. You do not have to change your VBIOS, or do anything extra, to install the stock drivers from the AMD website. Just download and double-click.
-
how do i remove existing drivers?
-
Control Panel | Programs and Features | ATI Catalyst Install Manager | Change | Uninstall All
However, you shouldn't need to do this, unless you're having issues with the CCC after install. -
control panel - uninstall - double click on ati catalyst install manager and Express uninstall all ati ...
Edit: Too slow
-
Happens to me all the time, lol.

You know, this is a bit newbish, but how exactly do I install 11.1?
I found an alternate download for the package--the AMD link seems down at the moment--and I started up the installer. However, when I'm picking what I want installed, I only see my OEM 10.8 driver, and no option to install 11.1. I install, but it remains 10.8. -
You can always try to manually update the display driver in Device Manager. By default, it should be located in:
C:\ATI\Support\11-1_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl\Packages\Drivers\Display\W76A_INF
It is a driver version 8.812.0.0000. -
And sometimes i forgot to click the "submit reply" button
Does it says 8.812 in GPUz ? -
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
I reinstalled my OEM drivers (10.8), and used the utility in CCC to download and install it. For some reason, the download from AMD worked fine this time around. Maybe the servers were down?

had to rollback to two months ago I think the drivers i had then had the pylon power bug in SC2, and since these say they fixed it I think I will update to them :/

I'm on a sony vaio vpcec290x and this broke the ability to change brightness.
Any fix for this? -
Do a complete uninstall of your existing drivers and reinstall them. Sony has opted out of the AMD driver program, so you may just be out of luck and have to roll back to the last version that worked or the latest Sony version of the drivers.
-
Any luck on new drivers for us with switchable graphics? Or am I still stuck with the old ones?
-
I uninstalled the first time before installing.
-
Sony opted out on drivers from AMD. Go ask Sony, that's what I would do. Or just not buy Sony.
-
Yeah cool I'll hop in my time machine.
Anyway,hopefully this gets fixed at 10.12. -
Strangely with my Acer 5820TG, 11.1 actually made screen brightness keys work again (it didn't work with previous drivers except ancient ones).
-
Hopefully 11.2 fixes the issue for me. It's not a big deal since I rarely lower my laptop lights... but still.

Since Sony opted out of AMD's driver program, don't count on it.
ATi has released 11.1 drivers!
