Guys, I want to know more about the GTX570M but I looked HERE and I saw nothing.

Any idea about the benchmarks? How does it compare to AMD 6970M?

Reason Im asking is this: >link to deviltech< It became available in germany, I saw it 10mins ago while browsing (again) and after calculating - its cheaper to make a config with gtx570m than with AMD 6970m!!! No idea why, but its 309 EUR cheaper!!!

Im definetely planning a notebook from that assembler and I will be getting it with 2gb ram and 320gb HDD. Reason - I can get better HDD and RAM here in Bulgaria for 2x less than from Germany! For example, 8GB RAM costs more than 16GB from here (costs like 7x4GB=28GB over here).

So, how about some info, benchmarks...? I need to make a wise choice between 6970M and gtx570m!

P.S. I checked again - my mistake! The configuration with the 6970M is 309 EUR more expensive than the same with GTX570M!!!! Whats the deal?? I dont understand - its even cheaper than the one with GTX460M!!! Somethins is very wrong...

    Fragbook DTX + GTX 460M = 1,288 EUR
    Fragbook DTX + AMD 6970M = 1.437 EUR
    Fragbook + GTX 570M = 1.128 EUR !!!!! <-----???

I think I know now why its cheaper:

1.) Its NOT based on a Clevo barebone like the others, but something else
2.) It offers only GTX570M which makes me think its soldered on the MB
3.) It says Vram DDR3 which means its gimped.
4.) It offers either 1,5GB Vram or 3,0GB so it maybe is 192bis after all (the 3gb costs 25 EUR more)

So the question is....with a gimped GTX570M is it a good deal or not...?

Nope man. If it's 1,5 or 3 gb of VRAM is definitely a full 192bit.
    Also there aren't gimped gtx570m unlike 460/560m.
Probably it's a typo, or they're talking about the system memory which is ddr3.
Ask them for a clarification, but I'm 99% positive that is the full one.

Here is a pic from their technical details section: http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh203/b0b1man/Untitled-1.jpg

It says DDR3 ram.... And the price difference has me thinking. I will paste the prices again:

    w/ Clevo barebone 17" + GTX 460M = 1,288 EUR
    w/ Clevo barebone 17" + AMD 6970M = 1.437 EUR
    UNKNOWN barebone 17" + GTX 570M = 1.128 EUR !!!!! <-----???

That 1,5gb can't fool us around.
Probably a typo. Enquiry them about it, I'm sure it's a gddr5.Also afaik only gtx560m is embedded, not the 570 which is a revised 470m.

    I believe that's a typo, I just checked Nvidia's page, 570M is compulsively matched with 192bit GDDR5 memory: GeForce GTX 570M - Specifications - GeForce

But it doesn't make sense why 570M is even 160 euro cheaper than a much lower 460M, maybe it has something to do with the barebone configuration? perhaps that particular barebone lacks WWAN card or something compared to the clevo model?

YES! I got smarter, upped my experience level to LVL 3 and decided to check the forums of DevilTech. Here is what I got:

Neues Gaming-Book mit GTX 570 ist da - DevilTech News & Tests - DevilTech Forum

Its in German but I will translate it:

    - The barebone is from MSI, they look absolutely the same! :D
    - The GTX 570M is 192bit, GDDR5 - the customers asked in the forum and the moderator said there was a typo and it was in fact DDR5!!! :D
    - Also, the moderator stated the LED panel's colors looked better than on the Clevo barebones :)

Wow, I think I am really leaning towards this configuration!!! As it turns out, its not gimped at all!

Final thing left to do - figgure out what benchmarks does the NVIDIA GTX570M do in StarCraft 2!! Guys, if you have the MSI 780DTX with the GTX570M in it, share some benchmarks!! I need to make a decision! AMD 6970M vs GTX570M!!

Performance wise, 6970M is equivalent to 485M in most games, there are games in which 485M takes lead and there are also games that 6970M runs better.

And if you are asking about starcraft 2, 6970M performs better than 485M in this game by a small margin, and I don't think 570M(less shaders counts, less memory bandwidth compared to 485M) will do better than 485M. Check this link: AnandTech - Eurocom Racer: Why the Radeon HD 6970M Rocks

It has all the same stuff in it as the CLEVO! Checked, double checked...its there! Its just insanely cheaper than the CLEVO, with the same hardware...

I am 55% leaning towards this new barebone config, like I said - it looks EXACTLY like the MSI 780DTX! Only cheaper and configurable! Specs I plan to build:

    CPU - Core i7 2760QM 2.4-3.5Ghz ( Yeah baby!! Newest stuff! :D )
RAM - 1x2GB 1600mhz Corsair (Im gettin 4x4GB 1333mhz when it arrives, its WAY cheaper over here than in Germany, gonna sell this 2Gb corsair it comes with)
HDD - 320GB (same as the RAM, gonna get me 2x500GB HDDs when it arrives. Gonna save me loads of money)
GPU - GTX570M ( as it turns out, its the REAL DEAL :D )
WLAN + BLuetooth - has them included
    Screen - 17.3 FULL HD
Barebone - looks exactly like the MSI 780DTX

    :)

If it's over 300euro cheaper than the clevo model with 6970M, I say go for it, the MSI 570M should be a little slower than the clevo with 6970M, but not by much, for 300 euro more, it's probably not worth it.

I was eyeing on sager NP8170 until I saw MSI barebone 1761. I think performance/price ratio-wise, this is by far the highest one. The closest shall be the little brother MSI barebone 16F2 which is around US$1000 with GTX560m.
there's supposed to be a review on this MSI 1761 in MSI forum in a couple of days as one of the fellas there has one shipping to his place during the weekend. I'm gonna see how that turns out and decide whether to jump in or not.

THANK YOU!! :D I was searching for the exact model of that barebone!! So IT REALLY IS MSI, no doubt about it now. The price-performance ratio is amazing... I am almost 90% sure to buy this. Gotta sell my current laptop first (sig)
