About getting the beta key of BC2 after pre-order in gamestop

In what form will I recieve it? And who is going to send it, by gamestop or EA?
And it should arrive before 28th right?

Are wea talking about Bad Company 2 ? Is there a pre-order beta key that u get ? I'm sorry, haven't seen much info about it but am interested.

The only surefire way to get access to the BC2 demo is to pre-order it off STEAM.

Access to the BETA is not guaranteed at GameStop and you will NOT get access to the BETA if you chose in-store pick-up.

 

Yea, I pre-ordered my copy through Direct2Drive, but I still haven't received a Beta key.
Maybe I'm wrong and D2D sends them out on the 28th, but I'm excited to see how it'll run on my lappy. I had a chance to play the beta for a month on the PS3 and now the PC gets some loving, I just hope with those system requirements it’ll run half as good.

 

Not all BC2 vendors will be giving out BETA keys...STEAM and GameStop are the only ones confirmed for the U.S.

Actually there is a wide list of vendors that provide beta access and Direct2Drive is one of them. Hers the confirmed list:

Ah, I see, that wasn't the case though a couple of days ago, at that point only GS and STEAM were going to give BETA access.

 

got it at Steam today, thought you could download it before beta but can't so far, hopefully they'll release client before.

 

Yeah, a pre-load prior to the beta release tomorrow would be great. I pre-ordered on Steam.

 

mines arrived but the link is dead. does that mean we have to wait until tomorrow before we can download.

if its like steam then they update at midnight so 5pm here in the uk ARGHH!

I just got my email from GameStop a few hours ago. I'm excited...

I'm interested to see how it performs on my G72.

*edit* haha nm jsut checked email, sent it to me 20 min ago =) yay... wish I could check to see if this would run on an Alienware M11x w/ probably a SU7300 C2D 1.3ghz but that's not out yet either!

more edits. Beta runs until Feb 25th according to Gamestop, so I guess I'll have time if I order the M11x right away to test the beta to see how well that runs =) Time to cancel my pre-order on GS though lol, just wanted the code. If it runs and plays well, I'll be getting it via steam.

 

Mine just arrived. Need beta for a performance test. 9800m gts should handle at least medium quality rite?

Not really, no. Since I've gotten back into PC gaming after a long hiatus with consoles, I've really just used steam. I've purchased some games retail, but either they can be tied to steam so no disc is necessary OR I know the game can be resold and the key is never tied to a specific account, like CoD4. It's more of a convenience thing, since I'm always going through computers (3 laptops in like 6 months) and reformat etc a lot so just having them digital and backed up on an external HDD helps.

But also, another reason for steam and BFBC2, the M11x has no optical drive, so digital would be my best route, unless I wanted an external DVD, but then if a disc check is required, that kills portability =D

 

You certainly made your point in the last part. Somehow I wanted to keep a box for display. (well, showing off )

 

Anyone order from Direct2Drive and receive a key yet? I'm starting to think maybe I should have purchased from the EA store, no matter how cr*ppy their service is.

There is no need to preorder the game to get a key and after its released you will be able to download it here i just got my key and downloading tommorrow when its released

 

The link in the email is still dead and it passed 6am on the east coast. Seems there are delays.

 

And gamestop got the wrong time. It should release at 12pm est.

50 minutes later and still no joy. 2 of the 3 download sites are off line or crashed and the remaining one just keeps flashing on the link page but for anly a second and then it white screens again and keeps searching arghhh!!!

 

Yea, I finally got my beta key though Direct2Drive pre-order option. They didn't email me or anything; I had to login to my account on their website and click Download where I was directed to a page with my beta key and instructions. They didn't even provide a dedicated download link and I'm forced to wait in line for hours before I can download the game.

 

5 hours downloading and still at 383mb with 7 hours to go.
finaly managed to get onto fileplanet with a Q of 441 people and im 290th

overnight job me thinks.
