    Rubbish specs ;)

Do they add the arctic silver compound on to the cpu for you? I presume then that it would be pretty easy/safe to overclock the quad-core beast?

My only concern would be the relatively small 100gb hard drive especially if you're planning on gaming....which I presume you are unless you're ultra-rich and just liking buying the best stuff. Surely there's atleast a 160gb 7200rpm version? Otherwise awesome and enjoy! Again with the screen res although my choice would be with 1680x1050 aswell as 1920x1200 is too fine for me on a 17in screen. I'm quite happy with my 19in lcd at 1440x900!

Oh and enjoy lugging that thing around lol, how many pounds? I'm sure crysis on high makes up for it though.

Yeah HDD definitely is too small. I have a 250GB in my Vostro and its already getting squeezed. I install about a dozen games on it, and at avg 5-6GB you can see how quickly space gets used up.

However I am assuming you can always add a second HDD to that monster? I would recommend maybe a 5400RPM for storage and use the 7200 RPM for gaming since load times are more critical.

100GB HD = about enough space for 9 current -gen games, if that's all put on it. But with an external you should be fine. That is pretty beastly, and $3k sounds like a great price.

I had so many games installed I had to buy an external drive to install them on!

Before I had about 1GB left at all times...

After uninstalling Steam and moving all of my games (and steam) over to an external 250GB HD I now have a free 50 GB at all times!!

    WOO!

Plus, my games have wicked awesome load times now that they are on a game dedicated drive.

Oh and I really like your new laptop. Very nice desktop replacement. Similar to my old D900T. Except my machine has a Pentium 4, GAH!
