I am having trouble deciding these two sytstmes?
The Dell E1705 or the Acer travelmate 8200?
About the smae in price give or take 300 Bucks.
What will run Falcon better the Acer's Ati's X1600 or the nivida's 7800 Card.
Both getting 2 Gigs of ram at the T2500 2.0 Ghz dual core. Acer got the 15.4 display compared to the 17inch Dell's/
If you had to decided being a active F4 player what system is better off?

    Thanks

I'd suggest deciding on a size first. Comparing a 17" to a 15.4" is pretty tough. Do the FAQ in the Hardware forum...it'll likely help.

This question is asked a lot, and there really is only one reasonable response . . take a look at the screen sizes. 15.4" to 17" is not a fair comparion.

I'll go along with what iCamp said.

    Quality referring to . .

I'd say that pixels on a WUXGA 17" display are about the same size as a 15.4" WSXGA+ screen. You wouldn't loose much quality.

If you're just asking about hte graphics card, I definitely prefer the nvidia solution. So then you're back to the display issue, will the 17" work for you?

I read somewhere that the Acer pretty much benchmarks higher than the E1705 in almost every benchmark except for when it comes to gaming. The E1705 has the better graphics card there so it obviously wins in terms of graphics.

(Oh yeah... the Dell in the comparison between the two had similar specs... Dual Core 2.0, 2.0 gigs of RAM, etc.)

I will be using it for Falcon 4.0 and Flight Simultor 2004.
And the 17inch seems very good for a machine that ill be gamming on. It has the better card in it, that whats really im after to. the 2.0ghz dual will run about any game without complanits right?
And i hear that ATI has no driver support compared to Nividia. The card is just as good as the drivers right?
    Thanks

Actually, ATI has great drivers . .

For your games, I don't think it will make too much of a difference if you go with the Acer or the Dell, but given a chioce, I would go for the most powerful machine, which in this case is the Dell. Just keep in mind that it is very big at 17".

Yea i had the 9300 version before, I liked the 17inch display alot. And now with the UXGA it will be even nicer?
Will I notice a difference between the 2.0ghz and the 2.13ghz?

In the Pentium M lineup, the highest-clocked processor that is reasonably priced would be the 2.0GHz 760. The price premium you pay for the 2.13 is just not worth the miniscule increase, you wouldn't even notice it unless you were running heavy mathematical programs.

The displays on the i9300 and the i9400 are the same. I would really recommend taking a look at the WUXGA before you buy, the text is very small. Of course, you can set up the DPI, but even then it is small.

What resolution screen are you using now?

Need the Resoultion to be 1600X1200 for the simultion!
So hopefully the UXGA does it for me.
The 2.0 GHZ should be sufficent with 2 Gigs of ram.
The reason i proablly go with the dell is the better Nividia Card inside the machine.
