    hey

i'm just wondering... do all of u with the 7600 go have DDR2 as the VRAM? Cause i'm about to go into unknown territory and buy a Acer Aspire 9110 which.. i have not found a review for at all.

Does anyone have the EXACT GPU as the acer - Nvidia Geforce Go 7600 DDR2 VRAM.

Any benchmarks (3dMark05 preferred) would be gladly appreciated.

I think that's an error. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the 7600 uses only dedicated memory.

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/go_7_series_techspecs.html
In the table at the bottom of that page, it shows the "TurboCache Technology" (shared ram) to be n/a for the 7600.

Edit: hmm I just saw it on the official acer site... I dunno now, i don't think they would have an error on their site, I guess I'll let somebody else post a better answer

Oh yea I did mean that it uses Dedicated Memory. But what I mean is that is it suppose to be using DDR2?

Quote from Acer site for 9110:

    "The NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 7600 with 256 MB of GDDR2 VRAM"

ps. VRAM = Video Ram right? I hope this Acer can hit at least 3.5k on 3dmark05.

whoops, misunderstood. I was thinkin vram was virtual ram or something. not thinkin straight.

Well, on that table I posted, it does show the 7600 as having GDDR1, DDR2, or GDDR3 so I guess it's right.

3500 in 3dmark05 out of the box. 3900 with a slight overclock. Notebook listed in signature.

The 7600 GO has the ability to work with DDR 1,2 or 3 depending on what the manufacter wants to use. The real question is what Acer clocks the core/memory at that I don't have for you, Compal cripples their card and it gets in the low 3100s area on 3DMark 05

nvidia says the core should be 450mhz and memory should be 500, I am not sure what Acer is clocking them at Compal on the HEL series is 350mhz core and memory which is well below spec. They companies probably don't push the clock speed that high on 15" models but 17" they should be up there. Reason being of course is heat and power consumption which most 17" users don't care about the power and 17" laptops have better cooling on average.

I think you'll find most notebooks using the Go 7600 use DDR2 RAM, at least that's what the memory clocks would suggest.

The Compal HEL80 has 256MB of dedicated DDR2 RAM.
