Id say its ok, but honestly I don't think it has excellent performance. It clearly suffers playing GTAIV. It has a ATI 3650, I don't know what its price is. But if your looking for a gaming laptop, this is clearly not it. However, if your looking for a decent midrange laptop, this might be great.

And its just a TurionX2, with a 1MB Cache, I would stay away from that. The Turion X2 Ultras are far more superior.

Ya that review is ok but the laptop they use has a 3470 hyrid crossfire or something, which doesnt seem to be as powerful as a HD 3650. But yeah I was looking at a half decent mid range laptop, I wanna upgrade my old inspiron heh. I was looking at Vaio FWs with the HD 3650 that had some plus's eg 1080p screen but I dunno how much I would actually get to use the 1080p screen as I imagine the HD 3650 could run much at 1920*1080 not with decent fps or at least i don't expect it would I dont actually know lol. The most graphically intense game i'd play on it would probably be oblivion/fallout 3, anything else i'd use my pc. Anyway its spec was:

    P8600 2.4GHz,
    4GB Ram,
    320GB 5400RPM HDD,
    1920*1080 screen,
    blu-ray drive and
    HD 3650 for £978

    Where as this one is:

    AMD Turion X2 RM-70 2.0Ghz
    4 GB Ram
    250 GB
    15.4 in TFT active matrix 1280 x 800
    HD3650 for £609

I dunno if the sony is worth the price increase any advice would be nice :D.

Ok, but still, I would stay away from that. The RM-70 is sooo much weaker than any of the ZM's that are now out. Whats your price range?

sony laptops are built much better than acer. at least that's the general concensus. for extra £369, you get a better processor(in terms of battery life and brute force), vastly superior screen, a blue ray drive, and a slightly bigger hdd. the price increase is fair i'd say.
however it seems your priority is gaming, hd3650 is okay but nowhere good enough to play every game at 1920*1080. the acer might fit your needs better.
also i found some better deals, http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/asp/...0G_Laptop_LX.AUS0X.142&pagetype=version&page=

I don't wanna spend more than £1000, I'd prefer to stay below the 1k mark hehe.

Yes those acers you mentioned look nice, although is there any issues with running things at that res 1366 x 768 in terms of scaling i mean?

A £1000!, Hell thats around $1400 USD if im correct?...

MSI has a nice laptop for $1,299.99 USD.
    C2D P8600 @ 2.4Ghz, 15.4 Inch Wide SXGA+, 4GB RAM, 320GB HD @ 7200RPM, Geforce 9800M GS.

However I don't know if newegg ships to were you live. Have you thought about alienware?, are you planning to order a laptop?, Or do you want to buy a laptop in store?

As for the resolution you speak of, 1366x768 is pretty small. Its fine, its a bit bigger than 720p. You can play games and everything on it fine. It depends, higher res is nicer but lower performance. But if you end up with a 9800M GS or a higher capable GPU. Youll have no problem.

Erm I don't really know, the exchange rate changes like every 5minutes atm rofl, but yeah it is a lot, thats why I wanna stay under it lol. Yeah alienware isnt really an option they are just so highly priced, to get something from them is too expensive, just adding an 8700M GT makes the price over £1000 lol. I hadn't looked into acer before but it looks like they will do the job, thier only £500-£600 which is nice. Yeah I looked into shipping from the USA back when the exchange rate was like $2 for £1 but even then shipping, import fees and VAT took it way up lol.

Ok, well if I were you, look around for something with like,

1280x800 res. Or not too big res.
ATI 3650/Geforce 9600M GT or higher.
And at least 2.2ghz C2D/Turion (Make sure ZM if turion).
    200+GB HD

Im sure you can get something like that for under 1000 for sure.

    Or this one you showed:
    AMD Turion X2 RM-70 2.0Ghz
    4 GB Ram
    250 GB
    15.4 in TFT active matrix 1280 x 800
    HD3650 for £609

Thats not a bad deal, if you could find it with a Turion ZM series. Then Get it, but im still iffy on the RM. The ZMs are much better performing. (ZM was simular to my C2D T7500).

Yea thats much better. It should do pretty well on most games.

9650M GT is ok, don't expect to play crysis maxxed or on high, but you should do well on medium graphics or a mix of medium and a bit high.

That laptop also looks really nice. Design is good.

R3v4n, I recommend you fill out the FAQ and post in the "What Notebook Should I Buy?" forum. You'll probably get better suggestions there.

The last laptop you linked, the Novatech "Pro", is pretty good, but I don't know what the offerings in the UK are like, so I can't give you any recommendations as to whether or not that's a good deal.
