Hey, My acer gave up on me yesterday. First of all the screen started flashing then when I tried to restart the screen came up while with thin horizontal lines across the screen. My dad took it to the techs at his work and they told him it was the GPU that was faulty. My question is what next? Is the laptop a write-off?

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5600 (1.83 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2 Cache)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 PCI Express 128MB VRAM
    RAM: 2048MB DDR2 (support dual-channel)
    Display: 15.4" WXGA CrystalBrite LCD

    Thanks in advance Hornet-Wing

Pop the bottom laptop cover off and check if the GPU is a MXM removable card. If it is then you can look for the replacement part.
