    Hi everyone,

    My System:

    Acer Aspire 5920G
    2.4 core2 duo
    2GB DDR2
Upto 1280MB Geforce 8600M GT TurboCache 175.80 modded drivers
    Latest Bios from Acer

When playing demanding games I realise that the GPU is gonna be producing a lot of heat to manage all the processes. But when playing recent games like Oblivion and Bioshock, the heat from the laptop is really becoming a problem.

The laptop practically acts like a radiator for a room! The fan goes though about three cycle speeds, reaching the fastest in games befor slowly leveling out to a normal spin.

How can I measure temperatures to see if this is abnormally warm output?

    What are the counter measures?

Thanks once again for all help.

You can use GPU-z or Rivatuner to measure GPU temp

& to measure CPU temp use Coretemp

Im getting almost 90 degrees during game play for Doom 3 and Oblivion.

Then it drops after gameplay down to 70 / 60 degrees.

This is okay isnt it? In terms of damagin the unit I think that such temperatures are okay arent they?

It's ok, but keep your temps below 95C. I suggest you to buy notebook cooler
